Dr. Meagan Roenker, MD

Dr. Roenker misdiagnosed me. I went in and complained of sever stomach pain. She told me I was constipated and sent me home with some Lactulose. Knowing something was causing the pain in my stomach, I went back to her. She never once physically touched me or did an exam, if she had she would have felt a mass. After I insisted on a CT scan, it was revealed that I had a large tumor. I underwent surgery and what I had was not constipation… I had stage 1, ovarian cancer, with a mucinous, tumor weighing 16.961 pounds. The surgery was successful and the 16” x 12” mass removed. When I went back to Dr. Roenker and told her I was misdiagnosed, she looked at her paper and continued jotting something and never once looked at me. No, “I am glad you are better”, nothing, not a response. That made me feel like she didn’t care, but her lack of acknowledgement was unacceptable. It has taken me over a year to write this but please, trust your instinct and get a second opinion, it can save your life.

Kind and gentle, knowledgeable. I love having her as my primary care physician. Stephanie her nurse is also very nice and has gone above and beyond to help me.

Great visit. Was a pre op and my last visit was last July before I had my head and neck cancer surgery. Dr. Meghan was very in tuned to my progress. She said she was following my journey . Never felt rushed. Really love my physician

The staff at her office is helpful and kind. You can even hear the smile on their faces thru the phone. Dr. Roenker is knowledgeable and compassionate. I feel completely at ease talking to her and she answers all of my questions in a straightforward fashion and in layman's terms.

Dr Roenker has been my primary care physician since she first joined TPMG Holland Road. Her diagnosis is consistently spot on. She listens and incorporates my comments into her treatment plan. Though we moved to Hampton from Virginia Beach over 2 years ago, I wouldn’t consider changing primary care physicians. She’s well worth the drive!
