Best of Luck
The greatest part of Dr. Gallegos is the joy of waiting 2 hours for you to see him for him to not look at your chart, not ask any questions, make a decision without informing you of anything and then send you on your way and hope that maybe you can see him 12 months from now for a follow up. The level of neglectful care is outrageous. I see a number of doctors at UNMH and he is by far the worst physician I have ever been to. The lack of care he has for patients is so painfully evident and humiliating to us. I get being busy, that’s fine, but at least pretend we’re humans sitting in front of you and not just a paycheck.

Yawn
When I am able to get in, which is rarely because of the long wait for an appointment, I have found the residents to be very thorough and informative. Dr Gallegos blesses me with a couple of minutes of his time and then it is months before anything gets done.

Loooooong waits, wasted appointments
When it comes to the difficult issues that only Dr Gallegos treats, trust me, just go to Mayo. I know it is a long drive but it is faster than the MONTHS of waiting for visits. Mayo will get you in, do ALL of the tests that you need, and either treat you or make a way for you to be treated quickly. Gallegos is the only urologist that handles difficult issues so he is busy, but he sees others as well, making us wait for fu(king ever. It has been almost 2 years for me, 14 months for an appointment which was canceled and rescheduled for 5 months later (so he could have a paternity leave) and now that I am in the system he still can't do a visit and a test on the same day. The time and money wasted driving and waiting is far more than if I had just gone to Mayo, where I had been seen for previous issues.

When I met Dr Gallegos, I instantly could tell how smart and skilled he is as a urologist. He has excellent bedside manner, and I could tell with his counseling that he wants to offer the best and safest surgical options for me. I trust him very much. Highly recommend
