Five stars for Dr Oo / Zero stars for his staff
I have been a patient of Dr. Oo’s since my first bought with pneumonia after one month of relocating to Florida. I have COPD and have been a patient of his for 3.5 years now. I started having symptoms again and tried to contact Dr. Oo for 2 days. After 5 calls were not returned I called my pcp and made got an appointment immediately. On leaving to go to that appointment I finally got a call from Dr. Oo’s office. By the fifth phone call I was quite irate. It was only after that call that I finally got a call back from someone in his office. When I told I had an appointment with someone else she happily said “Oh good, now we don’t need see then.” Is this an appropriate response to someone who is I’ll and seeking help?Dr. Oo is fantastic, too bad his staff is going to ruin his practice.

Tried to get appointment
Didn’t even get very far and woman taking call was abrupt and rude on the phone. I’m hoping to get an appointment but I don’t see a positive light here.

"THEY DON'T SEE SICK PEOPLE" DIRECT QUOTE
LET ME BEGIN BY SAYING THAT DR.OO IS VERY LIKEABLE AND A VERY BRIGHT AND SKILLED DOCTOR. DR. CHOY RETIRED AND I RECENTLY NEEDED A PULMONARY DOCTOR. WHEN I CALLED THE PERSON WHO ANSWERED WAS LESS THAN FRIENDLY AND TOLD ME THEY DON'T SEE SICK PEOPLE. WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO MEDICAL CARE?I DON'T NEED A DOCTOR WHEN I'M WELL.

Dr Oo is great! I show 4-stars because of Dr Oo and nothing else. He is knowledgeable and takes the time needed to evaluate and explain. His office staff are awful! They weren’t when I first started seeing him. I recently received a call (early 2020) from one of his team telling me that they were no longer going to see me due to changes in my health insurance (“You cannot afford to see us.” was the comment.) Frankly that is my decision whether I can afford to see him or not.

While Dr Oo seemed to genuinely want to help when I was in the hospital, I was unable to get an appointment after calling for 4 days!! even though he had told me to call his office and share with them that I had been seen by him in the hospital. His office manager is a vile woman & apparently I am not the only person to have such a terrible experience with her - my allergist's wife is also a patient of Dr Oo and has had similar experiences. Perhaps Dr Oo should get a new office manager.
