Shoulder Injury And Recommendation
Visited Dr. Zinno for a shoulder injury the occurred at the gym. After the Xray, Dr. Zinno came into the room, smiled, turned his computer screen toward me and said, 'you need shoulder replacement surgery'. That was the only option he recommended. At the time my pain level was zero, on occasion there was minor pain if I moved my arm in certain directions. There is a 10 lb. weight limitation for reverse shoulder replacement. I did not get the surgery Dr. Zinno recommended, I just don't bench press 180 lbs. anymore at the gym. There is arthritis in my shoulder, but I can golf, work out etc. 99% pain free. I got a second opinion a year after Dr. Zinno's surgery recommendation. I wanted to know if I am doing the right thing by not having my shoulder replaced. A local well respected shoulder expert confirmed I have shoulder arthritis, but shoulder replacement is not necessary if my quality of life is still excellent. I do not recommend Dr. Zinno to anyone.

Dr Zinno performed my reverse shoulder replacement 1/15/19, after a failed rotator cuff repair by his colleague Dr Gambacorta on 6/29/18. I felt Very comfortable with him and he put me at ease on the first visit. I was in a Lot of pain, having just had that immensely painful rotator cuff repair attempt. He was genuinely friendly and, I believe, genuinely empathetic. I feel like he honestly cared about me. He answered all my questions and I felt entirely confident in his abilities.

I was very impressed with the meeting with Dr Zinno and his staff today. He was reassuring and spent sufficient time with me explaining my options and answering my questions. I was nervous going in but soon felt greatly relieved. If surgery is required, I will definitely feel confident that Dr. Zinno will take good care of me.

Dr Zinno is a very thorough and caring physician. I am extremely satisfied with the progress of my shoulder rotator cuff surgery. It has been six weeks and I'm doing great, a little pain but nothing like before surgery. He explains everything in layman's terms and makes me feel comfortable asking any questions i have. I have recommended Dr since and will continue to in the future.
