Amazing Experience
Dr. Swick recently performed foot surgery on my right foot. I've had 3 prior foot surgeries, and I had enormous pain, and the results were never what I anticipated. After Dr. Swick operated on my foot, I never had one moment of pain and my results are incredible. I couldn't be happier. The practice is very busy, but I've never had to wait more than 15 minutes to be seen. Dr. Swick is very knowledgeable, and he is an incredible surgeon. He's kind and thoughtful and was very concerned about how I was doing and that I was happy with the results of my surgery. I would highly recommend Dr. Swick for any kind of orthopedic surgery. In fact, I will eventually need surgery on my left foot, and I will definitely have Dr. Swick do that surgery as well.

Terrible experience
I went in for a shoulder injury with severe pain and he initially told me he thought I had tendonitis and gave me a steroid injection before sending me for an MRI. When I returned for a follow up he again told me I had tendonitis and gave me no guidelines on return to activity. I asked him to review my MRI results with me but he brushed me off, left the room in a hurry and never came back. The nurse came to check me out but I said I had more questions and was told I would have to schedule another appointment as Dr. Swick was booked. Frustrated, I just asked for them to give me a copy of the disc and reports. Once I got home I reviewed it myself and the report clearly read that I had a tear of my rotator cuff and biceps tendon. I was baffled and called to speak with him but had to hold for over an hour and he was very pompous instead of apologetic. I ended up going to a different orthopedic surgeon and needed surgery to repair my rotator cuff and bicep tendon.

Exceptional professional
Dr Swick clearly explained his diagnosis and various options for treatment after his thorough evaluation. He explained the x rays and probable cause for the issue. He exudes confidence and assurance in a patient focused and thoughtful manner. He was not rushed and took the time to answer questions. Exceptional visit.

He didn't waste his time to look at my sorry foot.
He said come back in 6 weeks. No...I made an appointment with someone who knows what they are doing. I guess he agreed to help easy clear cut cases and not some sorry person like my bad off foot. Maybe it was meant I have a great doctor now! I have hope now.

Total ankle replacement
If you have an ankle or foot injury, this is your doctor. He is everything that I wanted in an ankle surgeon. Dr Swick and his medical team were wonderful. I felt encouraged and safe in his care Jeremy and Laura were there when I needed questions answered. Was a difficult recovery, but am so happy that I no longer have pain He is the doctor that you always hope that you will have the privilege to receive!!

Don't go here with a broken foot!
I went to Dr. Swick for a broken 5th metatarsal. He told me to put weight on it 6 days after injury. No boot, no cast, no bandage. He looked at an X-ray that was done out of town at an urgent care center and didn’t do a new X-ray. 6 weeks later I went back, X-ray looks the same. It’s not healing. He didn’t even see me the second time. It was the PA. Then I heard the doctor and PA discussing my case outside the door rather than in the exam room. The front desk folks submitted my insurance wrong and it got dumped in my lap. They also forgot about me too! I sat and waited for someone to bring in shoe inserts and waited for 40 minutes before I stepped out of the room to let them know I was still waiting. They sold me things my insurance didn’t cover at each visit. I am seeing another doctor and praying this lack of treatment doesn’t set me back, I’ll never recommend this office to anyone,

I highly recommend Dr. Swick and his staff. I’m very grateful that they got me in virtually immediately when I injured my foot. His advice has been spot on and very professionally delivered. While it is a very busy practice, it is exceptionally efficient. I deal with a lot of doctors in my work and so have a pretty good sense of whether they know what they are talking about or not and Dr. Swick is top notch.

Terrible experience!! Wanted a second opinion due to rehab that was supposed to start at their facility this week. After an out-of-state full ankle replacement almost 8 weeks ago, I have an uncommon immobile, very Painful, red swollen foot/ankle. After over 1.5 hour wait he walked into the room with an extremely terse attitude and refused to look at the x-rays, swelling, or even foot articulation telling me to come back with notes from the previous surgeon. All I wanted was an assessment wether to start or delay rehab. Very disappointing and clearly the worst doctor experience I’ve ever had in my lifetime. A visual assessment of X-rays, swelling, articulation and pain levels for rehab should’ve been provided. My concern is that the script to start rehab this week could cause more damage considering the conditions of the ankle / foot condition. I regret going this appointment especially after the poor experience a friend of mine had this past summer with him

Dr. Swick is a very skilled foot and ankle specialist. He is the best I have found in the Tampa/St Petersburg area. I have had good luck with all the orthopedic surgeons I have seen at AFO. I would highly recommend this practice. The only issue is that they only work out of Bayfront Hospital, which as a facility has seen better days. I wish they had a satellite in Tampa and a Tampa hospital choice.

Dr Swick did a Cartiva procedure on my painful arthritic bunion 3 months ago. (I suffered 20+ years) I was up and about on my kneeling scooter the same day. No real 'down-time'. My pain is 98% gone. Dr Swick explained everything very well - he put me completely at ease before, during and after surgery. Talking with him is like talking to your brother or friend, someone who really cares about you. Def worth the trip to St Pete. If I ever need any other surgery, he's my first choice. AAA+

My father told me growing up to have 3 certain people in my life; a good lawyer, accountant and mechanic. Well if dad was alive I would have to add a great Orthopedic surgeon to that list . That is exactly what Dr. Swick is. I have seen him since 2011 starting off with a fractured right foot, torn right pectoral muscle, elbow pain and the latest being torn bicep tendons bilaterally. Yes, lightning struck twice with me. All of which have healed with no side effects. I trust Dr. Swick!

Because I have a brittle bone disorder and I am only 30 with hopes of keeping up an active lifestyle, knowing that Dr Swick specializes in foot and ankle surgery put me at ease when I was facing a Trimal ORIF ankle surgery. Dr Swick was gracious enough to come to my hospital even though he was not on call at the time and he has shown the utmost care every step of the way. He listens and understands the concerns that arise during the healing and waiting period and treats you like family.
