Dr. Matthew Simons, MD

From all published accounts, Dr. Simons is a great surgeon and I have had co-workers who speak highly of their experience with him.However, in my opinion, Dr. Simons has lost sight of what makes a truly long-lasting great surgeon, and that’s accessibility to the patient before, during and after surgery.In my case, after my initial consultation with Dr. Simons that an anterior hip replacement was the only available treatment, I would not see Dr. Simmons until about 90 days later, on the actual surgery date. No bueno.Dr. Simons relegated-delegated my pre-op discussion of lab and ekg, results and most importantly, last minute surgery questions to an ill prepared 27 year-old PAC, who gave me incomplete or inaccurate information. Over objection to his staff, Dr. Simons also relegated the post-op visit to the PAC, too. I cancelled surgery with him.His office staff is difficult to reach, too. The entire Sierra Pacific Orthopedic office experience is sub-par.

Dr.simons replaced my right knee in November of 2023. I have had zero complications and am healing very well. He answered all of my questions and was kind and very helpful I felt very comfortable and confident in his abilities. I will definitely trust him with my left knee.

Dr. Simons did a TKR with the Zimmer 2 pod i - assist computer. This was just last Thursday, I’ve already had 2 PT appointments and I I’m thrilled with the results. He is definitely professional and an expert in his field. My knee was not stable for many years. I am very active but I’d keep having falls that I couldn’t catch my balance. Twenty years ago I had blown out my ACL playing tennis. Over the years I became bone on bone. Dr. Simons called it an OLD KNEE. I’m very thankful I had this done.

He did a knee replacement that made me feel like I was 18 again!
