Not bad, not great
1) Always seemed to need his laptop to look up answers to any of my questions. I finally switched to Dr. David Kelly - what an upgrade. I wish I had made the move 2 years earlier. It was like going from high school to college! Unfortunately, he moved from Bend in the spring of 2024. :( 2) Same scenario as with many healthcare providers: it's OK for you to have to wait 30 to 45 minutes to see the doctor, however, if you are a few minutes late, they reschedule you. 3) Also, not the most sensitive doctor out there.

A family doctor from the good old days of medicine. Knowledgeable, compassionate, communicative, and sincerely interested in his patients. Well versed in the specialists in the state, and I completely trust his recommendations after following a few. I schedule a yearly appointment with him, and I believe he has helped me improve my health and fitness even as I enter my mid-60s. He's everything a family doctor should be.

Dr Rode has been my PCP as long as I've been in Bend. He's likely the best PCP I've ever had. He is thorough, he values and takes into account your input, is direct and honest, and will give you all of the pros and cons of various treatment avenues. He's also extremely knowledgeable with a huge range of fitness and health subjects. I can't recommend him more highly.

One of the great things about Dr. Rode is his ability to network well with specialist in other areas. His diagnosis of failed back syndrome was confirmed by referring me to a spine surgeon and a physiatrist, both of whom confirmed his diagnosis. He's been a great asset in my effort to keep my quality of life the best.

Dr. Rode has been my established general practice provider as long as I have lived in Bend and I would refer him to friends and family without hesitation. I never feel rushed, he takes the time to address any questions or concerns I might have, and I find him to be an extremely knowledgeable physician. In an age wherein small family practices are hard to find, Dr. Rode is an excellent choice.

Did not give good treatment listening or caring of patient with serious injury. Both patient and spouse got a really uncaring and lack of concern attitude from this 'doctor'. Never have I reviewed a doctor but this one needed to be done.
