Great experience
Just got home from Dr. Riley performing a minor surgery on my child. He is one of the most personable doctors I've ever worked with and has been great on communication in the lead-up to today's procedure. The entire team at St. Vincent was fabulous today.

Extremely inconsiderate, makes up mind about treatment even before meeting and examining patient. Very condescending and egoistic. One of the most insensitive doctors we have encountered.

We had to see Dr. Riley on more than several occasions due to my Daughters issue. He actively refused to hear anything my wife had to say, who has lived through the same condition my daughter has. He belittled my wife's intelligence, saying that "Googling doesn't make you an expert." I made the same exact suggestion she did, the very next day, and he had agreed with me. And when I say exact, it was word for word. He is condescending, uninformed, and horrible to work with. Find a new GI. The staff was also aweful. I had called to let the staff know that my wife may be a little late, but she did make it on time. She stood at the window to check-in for over 10 minutes. When the staff finally came up, she was told to wait. After an additional 5 minutes, they said that she was too late to check-in and they had cancelled the appointment for "no-show." Then they refused to set a new appointment without us paying a fee. Again, skip that office, get a new GI. (BTW, this was in 2016)

Terrible patient care. He had decided he wasnt going to do anything to help us before we even walked into the room. He made zero suggestions of options to try or someone else that may be able to help my then 8month old son with extreme food intolerance. I had to fight to even get him to do blood work. I quote “No this isn’t normal, yes there’s something wrong with him, but I don’t know what it is so there’s nothing I can do for you.” We felt completely lost and abandoned. He never even interacted with my son (talk to him, play with him). I’ve worked in the medical field for a long time and he was the most egotistical doctors I’ve ever met. His MA and front desk staff were amazing though (the only positive out of the 3.5hr trip we made to see him).

I went online to get his office number and noticed the poor reviews which is surprising! My daughter LOVES Dr. Riley. He is one of her favorite doctors. He is always kind, patient, and interacts well with her. He has answered all of my question (at every appointment). No complaints. Some reviews say he has an ego...I haven't noticed it. That said, I would be just fine with a little ego. He is good at what he does and as long as he is taking care of my girl, ego or no ego we will see him.

He was very patient and listened to all my concerns about our baby’s fussiness and low weight gain. He explained everything thoroughly and left me feeling much more assured that everything was fine and she was doing well. We went over possible food allergies and intolerances and he felt it was something she would outgrow soon (was 3.5 months at visit). Fantastic bedside manner and wish he was up in Salem! Would go see him again in a heartbeat.

Dr.Riley is a thorough and friendly doctor. My son actually does not mind going in to see him which says a lot. He was able to diagnose and treat my son. Something other clinics hospitols and doctors did not do. Dr Riley found treatment options that work and really helped reassure us that we could manage his condition.

I would highly recommend Dr. Riley. He has made my son feel at ease even with him being embarrassed about his situation. Dr. Riley is able to relate to the kids which makes them feel better. He is very informative with the parents. His office staff are great too. all so friendly. I would defiantly suggest Dr. Riley as your GI Doctor.
