I had a car accident in 1992 that left me with major damage to my right hip and a MRSA infection in the joint that would not go away. After almost 30 years of infection flare ups that have resulted in many weeks spent in the hospital, IV antibiotics and much pain, surgeons in NY and in Orlando had pretty much run out of ideas of how to treat me. I went to Shands on the recommendation of doctors and friends and from the ER, Dr. Patrick and the orthopedic team came up with a plan of care that has finally given me hope for relief. Even though he's obviously very busy, I've never felt rushed when discussing my care. He's very thorough in explaining what he's going to be doing and what may lie ahead in the future.

Dr. Patrick operated on my knee. I had fallen and broken a piece off my tibia plateau. To make matters worse the piece I broke did not stay in place but moved into my leg tissue. Dr. Patrick was pleasant, courteous, honest and very helpful. I am 65 yrs old, way overweight and suffering from other health problems but my surgery went well. My xrays look good and I am starting to put weight on that leg. IMHO Dr. Patrick is great!
