Horrible care by a physician
I've had horrible inpatient care by this doctor from the Sister Kenny Institute pain program days in 1995-96 to the post-op 2006 cervical fusion surgery to the worst yet, 1/2019 six level fusion post-op where his own staff was afraid to call him when he was on call and he admitted the next morning he can be ornery when being called. Seriously. I've avoided Abbott just because of this jerk even though my spine surgeon is incredible. He's rude, wrote nasty patient notes that judged inaccurately and belittled suffering. It was a bit satisfying in 2006 to inform him he was very wrong about his opinion of the issues that developed in 1996 beyond the spine. A systemic disease process affecting all joints requiring a TKR in 2002 at age 36. I suggested in 2006 he carefully consider his patient concerns and choose his words wisely.

WOW is this guy a jerk. But if you really want to know how much he loathes his patient try reading your office visit note! He called me bizarre, remarked on my “behaviors” and wrote he couldn’t figure out why I was there to see him. Well in retrospect neither can I. Stay far away unless you want your chart polluted by a guy who’d be a much better fit as you a debt collector. He gets off on judging you rather than treating you. The visit was a waste of my time and he needs to retire.

Dr. Matthew Monsein, is Experienced, Thorough, Professional and Personable. He does his very best to learn all possible about all patients through personal appointments, review of previous consults, records and radiology reports and films prior to providing opinions and treatments. I consider him a true patient advocate. The Medical Facilities he works in/with are clean and inviting. I have recommended Dr. Monsein to family and friends many times over the years.
