I have been a patient of Dr Luxenberg for over 20 years. He always removed my skin spots with the nitrogen freeze and I was always satisfied with the outcome, until one of the spots came back. He looked at it and said it was squamous cell carcinoma. He did not biopsy it or send it to a lab for confirmation, although my insurance was billed for lab work. He removed the spot and confirmed nonchalantly “I think we got it all”. One month later it came back and grew into something twice it’s original size. I am now seeing another dermatologist group (UCSD) that is far more professional and knowledgeable. This spot ended up getting removed with MOHS surgery and since have had 3 other spots removed by MOHS that dr Luxenberg had seen. Comparing my skin care now to my care with Dr Luxenberg is dramatically different. Never once has Dr Luxenberg worn gloves nor has he worn a headlamp to detect spots of concern. Additionally, “lab work” was always billed to my insurance and never had been done .

Dr. Luxemberg is the best dermatologist ever. I’ve been to three in the past three years mainly because I moved from So Ca to No Ca. However, I had been treated by one dermatologist who said I had to have Fraxel done to my bottom lip. I had the Fraxel done by another dermatologist which left a scar on my lip which also did not cure my lip which was peeling. I returned to Dr. Luxemberg a month or so ago, and he said I never needed to have a Fraxel. He was treating me for something else as well, so we made another appointment. I thought I was going to have to have my lip shaved again which is painful. He said, “No, I’m not doing that because it might scar your lip even more.” He told me to try something else that is over the counter. In two weeks’ time, my lip looks really awesome, and the scar is disappearing. I am so impressed with Dr. Luxemberg. He is very professional and knows what he is doing. His bedside manner is impeccable and spends plenty of time with you. ??

Highly recommend Dr. Luxenberg. I've entrusted him with my dermatological needs for years. I initially discovered him through an insurance company referral when I lived in Long Beach but now drive from Los Angeles to continue under his care. He's professional, knowledgeable, personable and thorough. I go to him for all general care (preventative/annual mole checks, rashes, etc.) and more recently optional treatments like Dysport and fillers. Will continue to refer my friends and family.

First visited Dr. Matthew Luxenberg 5/11/2016 for shingles. Shot and pills were given. Second visited 4/5/2017 due to concerned growth on right knee. He removed for further testing and said he would call back. I called twice to followed up on 4/10/2016 and 4/17/2017, left messages to Maria to have him call back and up to now NOT a words from this doctor. I am raising my voices with other websites so others don't have to be in my situation right now.

An excellent, very knowledgeable doctor; he is great for treatment of psoriasis, including that which is recalcitrant to treatment. Friendly, affable doctor that gets down to the business of treating your problem. Very helpful staff. I travel 110 miles one way for his care, on LA freeways, and I don't regret it.
