Excellent Hematologist/Oncologist
I met Dr Karpenko in NC. First of all, he listened to me and got me what I needed in a short matter of time. He laid out a very specific plan and is always in communication with me and my family. Who ever said he doesn't look at the whole picture is completely wrong. He went above and beyond of any doctor I have ever met. Straight to the point. Brilliant guy. Not pushy with chemo. Gives me the best options. No doubt the one to go to.

I met Dr. Karpenko through a mutual friend this man has been nothing less than a godsend, his knowledge of prostate cancer, his concern for his patient, and his bedside manner is second to none I’m 64 years old I’ve been in retail my whole life and I literally know hundreds of people on a first name basis after The way this man walked me through This life-changing disease, After dealing with several other doctors there’s no one else that even comes close to his knowledge and his compassion for his patient

Very Good
I met Dr. Karpenko at Pinehurst, NC. He is very easy too speak with and was very upfront about my diagnosis. He did not speak down to me and talked to me like a person and explained my treatment plan. I would also say that he gave me options and when I felt the side effects of chemotherapy, he made the right dose adjustments to lessen the side effects. He is trustworthy and very responsive to my needs. Highly recommended.

Dr. Karpenko saved my life when I was diagnosed with a mass that surrounded my trachea. He immediately brought the team together and started chemo and radiation which was a life threatening situation on a Holliday weekend (NYE). Without a doubt I would highly recommend his expertise as an Oncologist

I am new to the area and needed to establish care with a oncologist/hematologist. I contacted First Health Cancer and was given an appt with Dr. K. I had a 10 minute visit with the doctor and my insurance was charged $540! Of which, I owe $300! Since then I have had to contact him and I find he doesn’t listen to my concerns and he doesn’t reply to my questions through My Chart. I was having pain in my left hip and asked about a referral for a MRI. As a breast cancer survivor, pain as I was having was a concern. His nurse contacted me and I was told the doctor said I would need to go to a primary care that he wasn’t treating me for hip pain. From my previous experience with my Indianapolis oncologist he provided total body care. I was astounded and requested to change doctors, but was told by his nurse that I am not able to change to another doctor in the practice. I was told I would have to go elsewhere. So, no I would not recommend this doctor to anyone!

Seemed like a friendly person, but doesn't appear to like to answer questions--gets a little touchy. Could be better at explaining. Could have avoided a lot of heart ache if had been better explained. Had a quick but important question before a procedure; most of my doctors would speak to me on the phone, but Dr. Karpenko relayed word that I would have to come in for another office visit.

Dr. Karpenko took me from stage 4 to non-detectable cancer. I value his knowledge and treatment methods. He is a very caring and concerned doctor. I have since moved out of state, but am planning to return in the near future. I will seek Dr. Karpenko out for future ongoing care.
