It is with reservation that I leave only three stars. Dr Harbaugh deserves 5 stars, if rating him alone. However while in the past I have had zero issues with the usually friendly staff my last two calls to them have not been up to his professional and thoughtful manner. I have been ill for 6 weeks. Went to Med Express twice due to my hours at work. Having feeling worse and desperate for care I attempted to get an appointment same day as I called of work. I was refused, I totally understand, but was offered zero apologies or empathy. Called another office at St Margaret’s and they were able to see me. I went there and the physician was very nice also. I ended up in the ER over the weekend after head to toe rash and a temp of 106. Feeling no better on Monday 10-14-19 I phone Dr. Harbaugh’s office to see him. Was told I am no longer his patient and can never be again and I should have used an urgent care instead of another physician. She was adamant that he would never see me again.

Fantastic doctor. Listens, really knows the latest research. Gives the options and recognizes the grey areas. Respects the patient, always! His knowledge is vast in many areas. He is well educated and continually keeps up with modern medicine.

I have only the best things to say about Dr. Harbaugh. Thoroughly listens to the patient and explains very well. I have been a patient at Penn Plum Family Medicine for almost 20 years, unfortunately I have to move on because of the insurance war between UPMC and Highmark. But on my way out the door I do not hesitate to recommend Dr. Harbaugh, Dr, Newcomer or Dr. Wislow. They will take good care of you!

Dr. Harbaugh is not the doctor I usually see, but boy was I glad to see him this time! He has an excellent bedside manner, he listens to what you're saying to understand you, and you can tell he genuinely cares about you! I have worked in the healthcare industry for over 37 years so its easy for me to tell who is genuinely meant for this profession, and he is! Now I won't mind if my usual doctor isn't available as long as I can see Dr. Harbaugh as well. I highly recommend him!
