Heart transplant recipient in 2023
Dr. Deshazo and the entire transplant team at St Thomas West are wonderful. The care I've received has been perfect. I'm returning to work soon.

Dr. DeShazo is an excellent heart Dr.. He sits and talks with patient about their health and listens to what the patient has to say (Great bedside manner) Has great knowledge of of what the patient needs.

Great doctor
Dr.deShazo was very caring and concerned doctor. He took the time to listen and explain my concerns and conditions. I would recommend him...and his nurse Meredith is outstanding.

Disappointing doctor
I was referred to Dr. Deshazo because of chest pain and shortness of breath by my primary doctor. My first visit consisted of 10 minutes with the doctor. I was not given any diagnosis. He wrote 3 new prescriptions and increased one. I later had to look on the portal to see the diagnosis. Is this the way that heart patients are treated these days? I called back a few weeks later to complain of side effects. I never got to talk to the doctor—- just a nurse who told me to go back to my primary physician. My kidney function decreased highly and BUN levels went up dramatically. Evidently these issues do not concern this doctor as much as it does me and my nephrologist.
