Dr. Matthew Benz, MD

I have been a patient of Dr. Benz since emergency detached retina surgery. He saved most of my vision and handled mist of the issues over the last two decades. He is a superb Dr. Post covid, his waiting room time has improved tremendously. Very courteous staff now.

When I went to him he portrayed himself as a know it all. After my retina detached a second time and had surgery, my regular eye doctor referred me to another retinal surgeon. Every eye doctor I have been to have asked, "Who lazered the hell out of your eye?" Probably why the best vision I have is 20/50.

I was impressed with the check in procedure and the waiting room layout. As usuall Dr. Benz was friendly but professional.

I was truly impressed with the care I received the week before last. Great care was taken for my health and for the health of the staff. I really appreciated it. Dr. Benz is always super. He is so calm and caring. I would recommend him in an instant. The whole staff at the Cypress office is great and friendly. Great office.

I went for my regular injection for macular degeneration. Service was prompt, courteous, and efficient.

My primary eye Doctor advised me after thorough testing that there was a hole in the macular in one of my eyes. He referred me to a Retina Specialist. I saw Dr. Matthew Benz in September of 2019. His assistant performed tests. I was advised by Dr. Benz that there NO HOLE found in the macular of my eye. My visit with him was short and abrupt. I was advised by my primary eye Doctor to follow up in 6 months. I went to see a different Retina Specialist. After thorough testing the Doctor advised me that I DO have a hole in the macular of my eye as well as Macular Degeneration. I AM EXTREMELY CONCERNED AND DISAPPOINTED BY THE LACK OF PROFESSIONAL CARE RECEIVED FROM DR. MATTHEW BENZ.

Dr. Benz is a no nonsense doctor. Pre-meeting testing was completed competently and skillfully by office personnel. Dr. Benz reviewed results, performed his examination, and explained everything succinctly. He answered questions and made recommendations simply and clearly.

Excellent practice. All staff was friendly and helpful, Dr. Benz was efficient, knowledgeable, and informative.

Due to scheduling difficulties with my normal Dr. with this group I have been seeing Dr. Benz recently for monthly eye injections for DME. Very pleasant and capable young man. He is always willing to answer questions. He makes a tense situation a bit more comfortable.
