Extraordinary physician with competent staff
I have been under Dr. Arnold’s care for over a year now for a very complex and unusual problem that has had other providers throwing in the towel. He is extremely intelligent, a good listener, and there when you really need him. Yes, he is busy and you will likely need to do some waiting, but that is true for any quality physician these days. His staff are also competent and easy to work with. The only complaint I might share are the features of the Sutter Health System which delay and sometimes hinder communication. Examples: Extra wall of gatekeeper message takers before you can even reach someone in his office and no ability to send an attachment to online messages. That said, he is truly a wonderful doctor.

This is by far the worst medical establishment that I had ever had the displeasure of dealing with. My primary care doctor had sent in a referral for me about two weeks ago. I called the office a couple of days after the referral was sent in, and they told me that they do have the referral and that my case is in review by the doctor and they would call me in a day or so. I didn't hear from them for several days, and while I was out of town for a day trip they called me at about 9:30 a.m. to tell me that there is a cancellation for 10 a.m. This is when I was out of town and 3 hours away. The case went into another black hole for several days. I called them back again today (after two weeks that had passed since they had told me they have the referral. Now they are telling me they can't find the referral, and without that they can't see me, unless i am willing to see a nurse, even though I have a serious nerve issue and currently live with lots of non-stop pain. The level of un-professi

Dr. Arnold is great. That said, the telemedicine system is impossible to use. Couldn't get access to the new site. When trying to call to get explanation the wait time was 17 minutes. Then when we finally got through we were told they didn't have any records for me as a patient.

My experience with Dr. Arnold himself has been nearly uniformly excellent. The major problem I encounter is with an assistant whose English language skills are marginal and is difficult to understand or communicate with. I have also found that my chart on various occasions has not reflected new information I have provided in a previous visit regarding current medications prescribed by my general practitioner and other data.
