3 years and feeling great
Dr. Matt fused my L5/S1 in the summer of 2020. Since that time my back has never felt better. I’m playing golf and living without pain after suffering for many years. Dr. Matt was kind, attentive and caring. While in the hospital recovering, he checked on me in person 2 times a day. I would recommend him to anyone.

This entire office is outstanding. I saw Dr. Ammerman once and he was unable to help me, but went out of his way to find someone who could, by calling another Dr. and consulting with my Dr. at the pain clinic. He personally called me twice during the following week. The whole experience was unexpectedly caring from someone I would only see once.

Kindly, patient physician, excellent neurosurgeon. He removed a disc from my neck which was dangerously pressing on my spinal cord. Afterward my chronic neck pain was immediately relieved and remains so...and the other neurological symptoms also promptly resolved. He is truly a doctor's doctor!

Both my husband and I have seen Matt Ammerman. He resolved my terrible neck pain without surgery or shots. He is truly a wonderful doctor who I wouldn't hesitate to use should I ever need surgery. He is simply a delightful human being as well who seems to truly enjoy his interactions with his patients and is a rare combination of compassionate as well as thoughtful and knowledgeable. He even encouraged me to get a 2nd opinion as he welcomes his colleagues opinions. No ego here!

Dr. Matthew Ammerman performed a laminectomy on me several months ago. The procedure involves enlarging the spinal canal to relieve pressure on the spinal cord. He did it using a minimally invasive method--with just two small incisions. The goal was to reduce pain and speed up recovery. His friendly, informal, self-confident way put me at ease. His informative and solicitous manner throughout the pre- and post-surgical consultations has been particularly appreciated. I recommend him highly.

Incredible skill, personality, and kindness. I found Dr. Ammermann to be an amazing doctor who was thorough, encouraging and reassuring. Very nice office staff, and very responsive to my calls and questions! I highly recommend you see Dr. Matt before you let anyone else do surgery on you!

Dr Ammerman gets right to the point in office visits. He tells you exactly what is going on with nerve pain and explains it lucidly. He does not rush you into surgery and much prefers to steer you toward non-invasive options; that is to say, he is not knife-happy. But when he does operate, he uses up-to-date approaches; he performed an XLIF on my back and I walked out of the hospital with no pain at all three days later. He visited me post op at least three times daily. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Ammerman found the source of my thigh and back pain in just a few minutes. He was direct and sent me to Point Performance for a pain block, which was highly successful. He is personable and I felt he was truly concerned. Furthermore, I waited less than five minutes for my appointment. At the end, he walked me to the waiting room-how rare is that. I highly recommend him for his knowledge and attitude to patients.

Dr. Ammerman is an amazing physician and does not waste time to find a solution for his patients. His association with Sibley Hospital makes it even convenient for test results to be delivered to him same day. Dr. Ammerman takes the time to make phone calls and offered choices to me with regard to my care.
