I attended my mother's appt as she is 80 and her short term memory is failing. Dr. Tootell sat behind his computer for the bulk of my mother's appointment. He did end up listening to her heart and lungs but never looked at her foot that she said was hurting her. She had a terrible head cold and he never once asked how long she had it or if she had other symptoms. She had lost 12 pounds in the last year( she is a small woman to begin with) He asked if she was eating well and she said that she was , so I would think the weight loss would be of concern, but he showed none. I told him my concerns about her memory and asked if he could administer a cognitive test and he refused. I understand that some memory loss might be common but I would at least think he would want to establish a baseline or maybe realize that as he is asking her questions that she might not be answering correctly because of her memory problems.

Him and his staff actually listen to you! They are all super friendly, the office is always clean.

Dr Tootell has been amazing. He is the first primary doctor that i have ever had that made me feel comfortable and sat and talked to me about all areas of my health. I spend a lot of time in the hospital, its just a shame times have changed and he isnt able to do rounds and come see his normal patients as inpatients. He has to trust whomever is the house doctor to take good care of his patients. He is such a caring physician and they are rare.

I had my thyroid burned out and had just become a patient with doctor tootell and he did not check my thyroid in over a year knowing the levels would lower and lower everyday I was on 75 MCG when I went to him now I have been regulated for a year and I'm on 175 MCG blood pressure and heart rate we're so hig. I'm lucky I didn't have a heart attack changed doctors and AM doing very well now
