Have had 3 surgeries by Dr Oishi, different levels of my spine. As a patient or just personality referral, I do highly recommend him to look into or your healthy spine or surgery by him. I am VERY HAPPY with all my results! TN

Approx 11 years ago, Dr. Oishi was my surgeon in Waco… he went through my Throat and replaced vertebrae at the back of my neck. Super complicated surgery, dangerous, scary… I had a great recovery. It was PAINFUL, but that was to be expected. I received a call atleast 2 days after I returned home to “check on me”. Dr. Oishi did a great job!

The staff is so terrible. Regardless of how your medical issue turns out, you'll regret choosing this doctor just from dealing with them.

I have no complaints. He has always been very nice to me. He has only one staff member that isn't very pleasant and she will hang up on before you are finished, but thank-goodness she doesn't work in the front and only answers the phone when the others are busy.

His staff is extremely RUDE. They cancel your appointment after you’ve waited quite some time and tell you you’ll need to wait 3 months for another one. If you can get past his horrible staff, he’s a very nice doctor. Guess I’ll have to find someone who will actually SEE me, even though I’ve had two surgeries with him and wanted to see him. Ridiculous!!

After my elderly mother was discharged the afternoon following a surgical procedure under a anesthesia performed by Dr. Oishi, she became violently ill and threw up more than 25 times over the next 9 hours. We called his staff 3 times to leave detailed messages describing her condition so we could find out whether she needed to go to the ER. No one ever returned these calls, even though his staff insisted he had received the message. This is the end of a long line of poor treatment by his staff, including cancelled appointments and unreturned messages. I have never heard of another doctor failing to follow up after surgery, much less refusing to respond to a patient’s urgent messages and questions the afternoon after surgery.

Made an appointment through the ZocDoc but when call to confirmed it was not available. When called to confirmed they just hang up on me and didn't answer until I called from a different number. Even though the answer was "she will call you by the end of today" was not very encouraging for expected appointment time at 11 am. I don't know how good is the doctor, but his staff is not professional at least.

He must hate patients. This is how Dr. Oishi treated us: 1) kept MRI for 2 weeks, unread. 2) had us drive 30 miles from Kingwood to his Galleria office to review the results 3) His staffer calls us ONE MILE from the office to tell us not to come to the 1:45 PM appointment. Dr. O is in emergency surgery... 4) 30 minutes later, DeeDee calls and asks WHERE ARE WE? Dr. O has been in the office since 1:30 PM.. ARE YOU SERIOUS!!!!!!????? 5) A week later, still hasn't read it.

I would give him a zero if that was an option. Worse doctor and staff. They don't care about your well-being. They only want money. Greedy. Please save your money and time and find a different doctor. You will not get an answer or resolve any health problems. He is not knowledgeable. He will listen to what you have to say about your problems, but then it ends there. Not worth it.

Today was my first consultation with Dr. Oishi. After 7 long years of doctors making me think i was crazy. He made me feel comfortable and help me to better understand my situation. I would definitely recommend him to anyone in questionable pain.

The office staff is the worst I have ever had to deal with. They are supposed to submit all the insurance pre-approvals. The problem is they don't do it and they lie to the patients about having done it. Maria will tell me one thing and the next time I call I speak with Patsy and get a completely different excuse. They were so rude with the insurance company(ins.) that the ins. filed a formal complaint on my behalf. I told the ins. I was ready to go to a different doc. They agreed.

My son saw Dr. Oishi for suspicion of a bulging disk. Dr. Oishi ordered an MRI, so it was important for us to get the results. Dr. Oishi's answers were general and he showed no compassion. Also, he did not tell us that three disks are involved but only spoke of one and he did not explain. His answer after being asked how bad it is, "He will not be paralyzed but it is significant." - Asked about a recommendation for a therapist, he said, "Houston is full of them." Well it is also full of doctors.

Dr. Oishi was my surgeon on my back and did a fusion. He was so wonderful. Great bedside manner. Lots of humor to make you feel at ease. His assistant Shannon was also so great keeping me informed. I loved them both. Also the office staff is very courteous and accommodating. I give the whole group 5 stars and would recommend them to any of my family or friends .

10 weeks out from 3 level fusion . Dr Oishi and his staff from the front office to those I could not name have done an excellent job. The communication levels as well as expectations identified have been outstanding. Maria and Patsy have done an amazing job at keeping me informed and that means so much . Thanks to you all. You have changed my life.

COMPLETE PAIN RELIEF! Thank you for your great care and expertise. While other doctors did not offer me hope or attention to detail, you spent the needed time to examine me and my MRI images. You gave me options. Having surgery performed by you changed my life. I now live without pain, and I thank you. I have referred friends and family to see you.

I had multiple issues--spinal stenosis, bulging discs, sciatica, compressed nerves, mainly on L4 and L5, etc. At first, I had gone to an orthopedic surgeon to schedule the surgery, but because of the nerve involvement, several people suggested that I get a second opinion from a neurosurgeon. I went to Dr. Oishi and was extremely pleased with the results of the operation. He was skilled and I recovered quickly, needed no physical therapy, and am free of pain. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Oishi is an excellent Doctor. I wouldn't want to go to another neurosurgeon. Unfortunately his office staff, primarily Patsy, are all extremely rude and unhelpful. It was only through perseverance and determination that we were able to have Dr. Oishi provide our needed services. Patsy and all staff are awful - rude, unreliable with getting our info and proper codes to BCBS, and simply put are the worst staff I've ever been around, to include United Airlines.
