Dr. Marshall Poole, DO

My husband originally gave Dr. Poole a rating of 2. Even though we had poor experiences with him, he seemed knowledgeable in his field and gave us a few ideas that were helpful early on. I am lowering the rating to 1. After not seeing him for 9 months, I received an independent evaluation for an auto accident claim, and the auto insurance company used 9 month old documents from Dr. Poole who wrongly and I believe purposely misstated my case to make himself look better at my expense. The report contained misleading information, stated events that did not happen, and contradicted reports from other specialists I was seeing at the time. This was used against me by auto insurance to remove my benefits even though I had additional surgery, hospitalizations and complications in the interim. I am sick that his ego is still affecting me getting on with my life.

Dr. Poole makes a great first impression. Good looking, charming with small talk, knowledgeable in his field. Once he starts treating you, you find out his bedside manner is very poor. He makes snap decisions about you, and it is difficult to change his mind, even when confronted with the facts. My wife underwent extensive rehab, and when she complained that something was not right, he refused to listen. Several days later she ended up having to have 4 additional surgeries, and when he went over the previous x-rays a second time, it was discovered she was right all along, and he had missed vital info. He will twist your words and throw them back at you in order to prove his point, and will ignore you when you try to reason with him. My wife had four different specialists helping her, plus a primary care physician, and each of them recommended specific action for her besides Dr. Poole. This caused much friction and confusion. Be very cautious when dealing with him.

Dr. Poole is kind and an outstanding Doctor! As a therapist that has worked with some of the best PM&R doctors is the state and 5 years at Beaumont, Royal Oak with one of the largest rehabilitation teams in our country, Dr. Poole comes highly recommended! The rehab team and his IPRU direction at Munson Medical Center treat the person not the patient! Their diligence has given my immediate loved one more function and a better quality of life than we ever could have hoped for! Thank You Dr. Pool

I had terrible neck pain that wouldn't go away. My family doctor referred me to Dr. Poole. He listened very carefully to my explanations of my problem and recommended exercises that cured my problem. I still follow his recommendations two years later. Dr. Poole is a very youthful looking person, so don't be surprised when you meet him!
