Excellent pulmunologist
Very knowledgeable and detail oriented professional .He takes all the time necessary to study my issues. If I have an emergency he is very available for following up my condition even after hours.

Review of Dr. Marlow Ross
I was diagnosed with tumors in both lungs in 2021, Dr. Ross became my Pulmonologist at that time and worked with the Oncologist and Surgeon on my care. As you can imagine it was a veryworrying and upsetting time for our family. Dr. Ross went above and beyond with my care, Dr. Ross spent the time we needed to understand what was happening, he visited the hospital room daily after my surgery, to make sure my recovery was progressing well, he was in contact with my other Drs to make sure everyone was on the same page, I could not have asked for better care.I would highly recommend Dr. Ross to everyone.

Dr. Ross is one of most caring and dedicated
Dr. Ross may look like “ old school” from the outside, but he is one of the most caring, thorough doctor that I have met in years. I highly recommend him. He is the best!

I saw Dr Ross for the first time today. He is probably the most thorough doctor I’ve ever seen. He spent a lot of time with me and texted some of my other doctors to get additional information. I am in really good hands with Dr Ross and am grateful that my primary care doctor sent me to see him.

Dr Ross is attentive, asks the necessary questions and allows me to ask the questions on “My list”. He is very busy but efficient and patient with all my questions. He is dedicated to making sure no stone is unturned. He will not stop until he finds the solution. He follows up at every appointment on the items from last visit. He details the entire appointment in a hard copy document at the end of each visit. Dr. Ross makes my wife and I feel like family.

I have been a patient of Dr. Ross for over 15 years and he has been extremely competent, professional, and helpful. He spends time with his patients and even gives them a printout of his assessment and PLAN for action. This has been massively helpful for me because whenever I am very ill (severe bronchitis or an asthma flare-up), I am so overwrought that I may not remember the treatment he suggests. His print out is a lifesaver to keep me on the road to recovery. Dr. Ross has run the full personality arc of being a doctor. Initially, he seemed a bit gruff, but over the years, I have seen him evolve into a gentler nature, especially after going through his own medical challenge; now, he seems more comfortable with patients and expresses a kindness and concern that are so necessary in the healing process. His medical expertise has enabled me to overcome my respiratory illnesses and bounce back. He will go the full distance to cure you, which, for me, is what I want a doctor to do.

As a patient for the past approx. 5 years, Dr. Ross has been an exceptionally intelligent, attentive, resourceful and technically up-to-date physician in his field of specialty. With his guidance and care I am currently feeling better than previous years, considering my age.

Dr Ross does not beat around the bush. He gets right to the point with the facts and his opinion. I like that, but if that makes you uncomfortable at first don’t through in the towel. You will appreciate it in the long run. He has done an amazing job with both my husband and me.

Dr Ross is very thorough in going over your medical data. He personally examines X-ray and CT images and will call the radiologist with any questions he may have that were not answered in the radiologist’s written report. And he will address any questions you may have as well. In my most recent CT results I had a question about one of the images, and while I was in his office he called a trusted radiologist to get an answer (even though I really don’t have any business analyzing CT images). Not surprising, my concerns with the image were unfounded, but I appreciated Dr Ross devoting the time and effort to make the call to set my mind at ease. Dr Ross’s thoroughness can sometimes lead to a longer wait time for appointments, but it’s worth it … he’s not cutting corners. His office staff are very friendly and helpful and if you call them as your appointment time approaches they can give you an estimate of how long the wait time is should you want to delay your arrival a bit.

Simply Dr. Ross saved my life. I was admitted into emergency at Hoag and stayed a week with a complicated illness that caused severe pleural effusion. Dr. Ross was my assigned pulmonary physician for the entire time, including months of visits to his office. He spared no expense and his focused time with me was above what I’ve experienced. I felt he cared about me. Marc

I have been a patient of Dr. Ross since getting H1N1 back in 2009. I will never go to anyone else for my lung issues ever again. It took seeing 4 other pulmonologists before I found him to get a correct diagnosis! He really takes the time & care to exhaust all avenues to help his patients, He is very direct, which some people don't like, but for me, I appreciate that. I would rather have it that way than not. He will tell you exactly what is going on...no beating around the bush, like other doctors tend to do. He truly cares and he is the best when it comes to pulmonology! If you or a family member are having lung issues of any kind, and you are not getting results with your current doctor, then Dr. Marlowe Ross is the doctor you should see, for he will most certainly get to the cause of your issues. He also has the best team handling his office. I feel like family when I arrive. They always greet me with a smile. Thank you Dr. Ross & team for years of great care!

In July 2020, I was diagnosed with a massive saddled pulmonary embolism. A surgeon took more than 35 blood clots out of my lungs. Regretfully this was only 3/4th of the clots. I was referred to Dr. Ross for follow up. 6 months later I’M BLOOD CLOT FREE! I’m grateful to Dr. Ross’s care as I have a second chance on life.

I cannot tell you how awful this Dr. is. My mother has left his office twice in tears. My mother as we all say is the sweetest person in the world. Never and i mean NEVER has she been at odds with any other medical office. His Bedside manner? My god this man has no clue. He's impatient, rude and not shy of personally demeaning his patients. Yes i say patients... Plural... In and around the Hoag Hospital offices this man is literally KNOWN for this behavior. I'm sorry for the lengthy review but nice , decent hardworking Americans deserve better care than what Dr. Ross provides... STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dr. Ross is absolutely the worst doctor. I have ever encountered at Hoag. I have been a patient with Hoag for over 35 years. I have never encountered a doctor who was so mean and impatient than him. I had the unfortunate mandatory meeting to meet with him before I was allowed to have cosmetic surgery. I had two in office meetings with him which had me leave me in tears... I even stayed below where they do the X-rays just so I did not have to wait in his office. If you want to have a comfortable, reassuring, and kind doctor do not choose Dr. Ross. I cannot describe to you how horrible my experiences were with this man. If you chose to see him as your doctor I would think twice and find anyone else than him. Please believe me viewers I have never posted a review other than this one.

I saw Dr. Ross for several years. I found him to be a brilliant pulmonologist and he takes great care of his patients. While he is not a 'warm and fuzzy' doctor, he knows his stuff and he's one of the best for follow-up. My insurance coverage changed so I can't see him any more, but I haven't found a pulmonologist that near compares to him.

Long wait times - 30 to 45 minutes each visit. Medical explanations were not helpful...learned more about my condition on Wikipedia than through the doctor. Very poor bedside manner - showed limited empathy and concern for my condition. Disappointing customer experience overall. I would not recommend Dr. Ross.
