Dr. Mark Wieland, MD

I'm used to a doctor being a partner in my care, not a dictator of my treatment. Dr. Wieland stopped medications I had been taking for years, without any discussion on whether they helped me, which they did. He also forced me off pain medication without my consent. I had severe pain on a daily basis, but this didn't seem to concern him. I had an excellent referral from my previous pain prescriber. As I was tapered off the medication, my pain increased and my mobility decreased. I lost my independence in living, caring for myself, my pets, and my place to live. My quality of life sank very low as I went from using a cane to using a walker then needing a wheelchair. This primary care provider has been patriarchal and has been the worst I've ever experienced. For patients who want shared decision-making with their doctor, find somebody who will care enough to involve you in your own healthcare.
