I saw Dr. Slovenki for severe ankle arthritis and he recommended an ankle replacement. I really had no choice because I couldn't even walk up an incline. I am a very active 75 year old male and couldn't bear the thought of loosing my independence. Dr. Slovenki reviewed the X-rays and explained all the risks involved. I am 12 weeks in and almost completely pain free and walking around everywhere. He listened to everything I had to say and answered all my questions. After my surgery, I carefully followed his recommendations and within a relative short period of time I was walking pain free. Nine years later, I continue to be pain free! The good Doctor went well beyond the norm to ascertain my candidacy for an ankle replacement. In addition, he thoroughly described my unique and extreme condition all the while displaying professional confidence toward my outcome. He continued to impress by thoughtfully explaining the pros and cons of my procedure, the timeline, and ultimate recovery. My initial visit was truly a great experience, that gives me much hope for many future years to come.

Dr. Slovenkai was recommended to me by another orthopedic practice- always a good sign that he is a respected and highly competent surgeon. It’s always a nice change when a surgeon doesn’t automatically suggest surgery. For me, he suggested an alternate procedure and I went with that. I was also so happy that he listens, cares about you as a person and reacts appropriately. My next visit will be virtual, which he suggested due to certain familial responsibilities. Dr. Slovenkai has a wonderful bedside manner, is kind and caring. I wouldn’t hesitate to have him operate on me.

After causing a foot collapse on my right foot from a torn tendon that I walked on mistakenly for 10 months, I wanted an expert orthopedic consultation as my foot was worsening by the day. I wanted to go to a New England Baptist Dr for their excellence in orthopedic specialists and found Dr. Slovenkai. At my first appointment Dr. Slovenkai assessed my problem and was like a laser focused beam to the issue at hand. His opinion was verified by MRI and I underwent a complicated foot surgery including a steel plate and screws and tendon transfer. Every step of the way I felt confident in both him and his team. I am 12 weeks post op and starting to walk again. This surgery was essential to me ever walking normally again and Dr. Slovenkai did an amazing job. I owe him so much gratitude for his expert skills and it was worth travelling 5 hours to be assured I was in the best of hands. Thank you Dr. Slovenkai.

Dr Slovenkai is an excellent surgeon. His staff is empathetic, professional, excellent infection control procedures. I highly recommend him and his staff to anyone who desires excellent outcomes from a caring excellent surgeon.

Four days ago, Dr. Slovenkai expertly replaced a left ankle joint that has troubled me for over four decades. In appointments he is always prompt and answers all my questions, using understandable language while treating me as a respected collaborator in my care. One of the surgery prep nurses said, “You’re having surgery with Dr. Slovenkai? He’s excellent. I’d go to him in a heartbeat.” I agree. I give him a “no but’s” five-star rating.

I am ten years past two ankle replacements. I can report no pain, full movement, invisible scars, and overall restored mobility from crippling ankle arthritis. The left side required additional surgeries because of the severity of the problems, but all were successful. I highly recommend this doctor and NEBH.

I have had multiple surgeries by Dr. Slovenkai. I am extremely pleased with all of them. Excellent surgeon. Waiting time can be longer but I feel that it my due to the time that he takes to answer questions. I have recommended him to several people. They were also very satisfied.

I am a 72 yr old retired RN. Dr SLOVENKAI did a R Pantalar Fusion,Fibula OSTEOTOMY, with ileac crest bone graft and a titanium rod placement in the tibia on 10/29/14. I had severe AVASCULAR NECROSIS of the Talar BONE with severe OSTEOARTHRITIS of the foot and ankle. My surgery was a great success and I would recommend this Dr to anyone with a severe foot and ankle problems.

He was very informative, listened to the patient, and did not rush the appointment.. Before you go make sure you can explain what your pain feels like, he needs it as specific as possible. I think to get to the actual diagnosis, he needs to pinpoint what your feeling exactly. I was very impressed and would definitely recommend him.
