I’ve been a patient of Dr Silversmith for several years. He’s always kind and very easy to talk to. His team at CMC are great. I’ve had many procedures and I recommend him highly!

Met Dr. Silversmith in procedure room while inpatient at CMC. Prior to sedation his team informed me this was only being done as a favor to the General Surgeon who admitted me (based on a diagnostic radiological error read. Oops). Dr. Silvermith rushed in, said his name, I was sedated. When I woke, he asked family GI history then proceeded to interrupt my answers with, "not possible," "don't believe it," "whatever," "she makes no sense" (to his team). Beyond humiliation; a rather middle school bully team approach while in a vulnerable situation. I hadn't requested or demanded his services; they were ordered by the admitting surgeon. Any confidence I may have wanted to place in his professed expertise became moot. Never saw him again. I determined at that moment I'd rather die from colon cancer than ever subject myself to Dr. Silversmith and his team again.

I have been with Dr. Silversmith since 1991. He treats my ulcerative colitis. I have had a colonoscopy every 2 years when he started finding polyps that could be precancerous and removed them. He then found displasia. Then he changed my schedule to once a year. I will be 80 years old on May 1, 2021. He says that he would feel terrible if a cell appeared that was precancerous after he advised me that there was no reason for an 80 year old to have further colonoscopy's. Considering the many times over the years that he has removed precancerous polyps, he has elected to stay on the one year schedule. He is a skilled doctor, has a wonderful "bed side manner" and I trust him with my life ! I highly recommend him.

Dr. Hatem Shoukeir is an excellent doctor, however the office staff and nurses are inadequate and unprofessional. Twice, I have the office staff call to cancel an appointment - with less than 24 hours notice - that I had scheduled over a month ago due to their own error within their scheduling system and lack of attention to detail - leaving me unable to receive the medical attention I need and deserve. It's unfortunate that the patients of NH Gastroenterology must suffer due to their errors.

In the process of battling complications related to diverticulitis and the subsequent operation to remove the affected portion of colon, including a persistent stricture at the resection site. Dr Silversmith worked with me the entire time, finding surgeons capable of handling my particular conditions. He was tireless in working through this with me, including Sunday afternoon phone calls until a viable plan was in place. I am now on the road to a full recovery after battling this after 1.5yrs

I wasted 6 months of my life with his continued delays and his obvious lack of concern and care. New doctor that I saw after him did more in 2 weeks than Silversmith did in 6 months. I do believe that his lack of follow up has caused more chronic conditions that I will now have to live with for the rest of my life. Recommend that you stay far away from Dr. Silversmith.

Very committed to his patient's health care. Communicates well & provides excellent information regarding the patient's well being. He is obviously well qualified as a gastroenterologist. He listens well & is sincere. I would readily recommend him. I'd previously rated this doctor poorly, but everything has been resolved to my satisfaction. There were several factors involved that I wasn't aware of. If I could, I would retract me previous rating.
