Bad doctor. I worked with him for many years hoping for help with chronic pain. He gave me a diagnosis and when I told him that my symptoms were completely different from the diagnosis , he said we should just go with treatment. Needless to say, the treatment had no effect whatsoever and only gave false hopes.

Dr. Shih saved my son's quality of life. My 4 yo had stopped growing or playing for a year. We had been to dozens of doctors who said his issues were genetic and there was nothing that could be done. Dr. Shih spent an entire hour (when does that ever happen with a specialist?!?) asking questions and just watching my son attentively. Then he told me, "I think I know what's going on." My son had occult tethered cord. He had a simple 30 min surgery to release his cord (thank you to Dr. Wehby!). The day after surgery, my son told me, "I'm so glad that I had this done." A decade later, he still remembers the pain in his back and legs disappearing after surgery. Dr. Shih also identified related issues that were missed by other doctors. His attentiveness and care for my child went above and beyond what we experienced from any other physician. He's very intelligent, compassionate, and takes his time with every child.

Amazing and Not Dismissive! We have been fighting for years for answers for my daughter and have seen MANY specialists. When we first saw Dr.Shih he immediately ordered imaging, without me having to even say anything or ask for it. He listened to me, something very few have done. For the first time in years, I felt heard. I’m so grateful for Dr.Shih!

Dr. Shih saw my daughter who has been seen by MULTIPLE SPECIALIST with facilities such as; Providence, OHSU and other high ranking hospitals throughout the inter-mountain region. My daughter has Ehlers-Donlas as well as a slough of other health issues. She was referred to see Dr. Shih for medical rehabilitation and for a physiastrist to oversee her physical therapy. Dr. Shih knew right off that she had POTS! He sent her for testing and sure enough, it was confirmed! My daughter absolutely LOVED him! He was wonderful to watch as he interacted with a 16-year-old that was set on another "wasted' specialist appointment. Despite the confirmation...she was THRILLED to finally be able to know what was causing her symptoms. He was very professional, age appropriate and there was absolutely NO FEAR factor tactics at all! We highly recommend Dr. Shih. Trust me...I work with doctors on a daily basis...he knows his stuff!

I have been trying to figure out my daughters medical issues for a year now. Dr. Shih is the most intelligent and caring doctor she has seen. He asked questions no one had asked previously. He was warm and good at asking uncomfortable questions. My child is a bit shy and he was wonderful with her. I would highly recommend him as he is brilliant and thorough. I am very grateful she is on the road to healing.
