Condescending and belittling
Dr. Shen was my electrophysiologist for 2 years after a cardiac arrest. He treated me with disrespect, only speaking directly with my husband instead of me, the patient. I was not able to ask questions during my clinic visits or postop. He also knew that my condition was worsening on remote device uploads, but chose not to inform me until after I collapsed at work and was shocked by defibrillator. During this time, he performed a lead replacement, which left me with a wound infection he refused to even address, even though my wound had been oozing and very painful for 4 weeks. After removing him as my care provider, my new cardiologist immediately put me on antibiotics and helped address the infection. I would not choose this man to take care of myself, or anyone I cared about.

Very personable, takes time to explain things well
It was important to Dr. Shen that I understood everything he was explaining. He was able to quell my fears about a possible procedure. He made me feel so much better.

He is one of the best doctors for me and my small family .Extremely qualified medical professionals and one of the best human being, experienced, kind, employed an experienced, helpful staff. He listened and answered of my questions, and gave me detailed and very informative answers about my heart condition, I gave him and his staff a highly grade plus RECOMMENDED TO ALL PERSONS WHO ARE IN NEED OF VERY GOOD HEART DOCTOR. Good doctor
I have had a great experience with him. He is so knowledgable and kind. He also has good surgical skills and bedside manner. He brought my life back!! I have full confidence in him. I am sorry that he left the practice but I am going to see him in his new place!

Dr Mark Shen is the BEST doctor I have ever met. I have a condition called AFIB and was very symptomatic. After his ablation, I have been doing very well. I can get my life back! Aside from the surgical skills, he has very good communication skills, bedside manner and checked on me prior and after the ablation. My daughter and I were both really grateful and satisfied with his care!
