Professional and caring
Dr Kurd essentially confirmed what I have been suspecting regarding my neck. After looking at my MRI he essentially knew right away where the issue was. He and the PA in my doctors office are the only two people that really listen to me. As a retired RN I’m so glad for those two men. They really allayed my fears. Especially after being worked up for the possibility of a stroke, which was essentially ruled out and very grateful for that. Currently the issues still pess but at least we now know what cause Is. As far as I’m concerned, he’s a fabulous doctor and more doctor should be like him. I am anxious to await further treatment by him. Thank you Dr Kurd and the staff at Rothman.

After an epidural by another provider didn't relieve my sciatica, I consulted Dr. Kurd. I explained that my son's wedding was in ten days, so he squeezed me Into his OR schedule in two days time for a microdiskectomy and made it possible for my son & I to enjoy our mother-son dance. I will be forever grateful to him.

Excellent doctor and staff
Dr Kurd thoroughly reviewed the X-ray of my spinal stenosis with me and suggested treatment other than surgery at this time. He is caring and straight forward. He and his scheduler Rianna went far above and beyond the usual concern for a patient to resolve my issue with transportation, location and insurance. I highly recommend Dr Kurd and his staff for personal and spinal care.

thank you for doing what other surgeons wouldnt
I'm writing on behalf of my mother who was under Dr Kurd's care in Spring/Summer 2022. She has a history of chronic back pain, including a spinal fusion surgery back in 2001. She’s been disabled since then and has lived with daily pain. After a short fall in 2021 down a few stair steps, she experienced pain in her knee. She visited a number of doctors, including a knee specialist who told her that she had issues with her back. Her prior surgeon said there was nothing to do but rehab. She returned to the knee specialist who referred her to Dr Kurd. At this time her level of pain at this time was 8 out of 10. After meeting with him, he suggested removing the old spinal fusion and doing a different spinal fusion in different vertebrae. Previous surgeons had refused to consider removing the 2001 rod. After surgery my mother has been incredibly happy with the recovery, describing her pain level as 3 or 4, a huge improvement on quality of life. She looks forward to beginning physical ther

I thought Dr. Kurd was easy to talk to. He explained what is going on with my spine. He explained that I need surgery and what he was going to do during surgery. I felt he gave me enough details to decide to go forward with my surgery and we scheduled it before he left the exam room.

Banned for Bad Review
Today I had an appointment with Dr. Mark kurd's assistant. In severe pain, I had to have my Mother drive me. The ride is 20 min. When I got to Rothman in Limerick the receptionist told me the assistant, Carmen was not there! It took the receptionist a long time to come back up front to tell me. Finally, she told me Talour would speak to me. She is Dr. Kurd's head Nurse. Instead Talour sent some poor girl to speak to me. Ok. Dr. Kurd was too cowardly to tell me he was angry that after my 4th visit to him, I wrote a bad review! Instead, they let us drive all the way there in severe pain! I guess I am banned from Rothman because of a bad review! He deserved the bad review. I can't believe he was not able to tell me that he was dumping me because of my bad review. He had asked, after surgery to 'make sure I gave him a good review'

I went to Dr.Kurd because he came highly recommended. I had broken my back in 2017, and had an infusion done by dr.Kepler. It was recently discovered that some of the hardware had loosened and it needed to be looked at again. I made the appointment explaining this in detail. And letting them know if have the cat scans for the doc to review. We get into the doctors office, and I don’t think he even looked at the cat scan images or the X-ray for that matter. The Dr.Kurd very clearly gave the impression we were a nuisance to his day. And actually told my husband that “he wished people would stop looking at the hardware, then they would stop seeing the loose screws”. And told us he can’t help us. I went into detail AGAIN about all of my husbands pain, and we were dismissed again. Come to find out from another opinion today, my husband has SOcroilliac Joint Dysfunction. And now has a plan to feel better! I would not send my pet duck to this health institution.

I had my surgery in 2018 and I am able to do so much more today. I absolutely love being able to walk with ease still. It is wonderful to simply have the joy of a good walk in grocery store or out in the fresh air with friends and grandchildren. Thank you for my life back!! May God Bless you to continue your good work.
