Dr. Mark Komrad, MD

He had me on six different medications and twice weekly therapy sessions for many years. I left after he insisted on me sharing my emails and texts with him. I'm now seeing a talented therapist and a separate psychiatrist who has me on one medication and I've been stable for over two years. Dr. Komrad simply doesn't have the toolbox of a trained therapist--it's like talking to an advice columnist. A nice advice columnist, to be sure, but of limited therapeutic value.

Dr Komrad has a great education and all of the elitist attitude that comes with it . You won't find a better credentialed psychiatrist but you certainly could find a more compassionate one . He is fine for routine prescription checks and changes but would highly discourage visiting for any talk therapy .

Dr Komrad really listens to you, really really cares, and with his knowledge, experience, and professional network, he is extraordinarily helpful. Dr Komrad takes the time that's truly necessary to accurately diagnose his patients and to guide them along a path of improvement. I wholeheartedly recommend Dr Komrad to anyone seeking to understand/resolve/improve their mental health.

Once you get past all of his prestigious awards, publications, impressive education and professional associations that some may find intimidating, you will find the most "down to earth," genuinely caring, and kind physician. I found him to be very patient & responsive including out of the office. He is both psychiatrist AND therapist. Does NOT push meds. I trust him with my life -literally- he's saved it! I highly recommend him. There's always a long waiting list but he's worth it. Best wishes!
