Not prepared for appointment
My daughter goes to school out of state and I flew her home to have a biopsy with Dr. Hunter, we arrived at the appointment only to find out that they didn't have the solution (medium) to send a biopsy to the lab! He then did an ultra sound of the area that was to be biopsied and told us that he was confident that there wasn't a problem since my daughter didn't have any other symptoms. Turns out she was later diagnosed with stage 4 Hodgkin Lymphoma! Major fail on the office's part! If a patient has a biopsy appointment made way in advance, make sure you are prepared to do what the appointment is scheduled for.......biopsy medium. Very disappointed to say the least.

Wonderful doctor
Dr. Hunter provided excellent care to my teenage daughter. He skillfully conducted an exam and telescopic procedure, calmly and continuously explaining the procedure to my daughter as he went. He put her at ease despite our anxiousness and fears. His warm and friendly manner made a scary and challenging day better. He also provided important education to prevent future injuries. We both commented on how wonderful he was and how his thoughtful and caring manner made a huge difference. I would highly recommend Dr. Hunter.

The kindest, best doctor
My teenage son needed severe nasal polyps removed, and in everything before, during the surgery and after Dr Hunter was effective, kind, calm, upbeat and really helped us get through a difficult process.

Amazing
Everything you could want in a physician. He took his time to educate, reassure, and even modify his treatment plan to help this anxious patient through a procedure. While no surgery is fun, I felt really safe and confident with Dr. Hunter in charge. It’s no wonder he’s always booked months out— truly the best.

First Impressions
It has been years since I have met with a doctor who was as attentive and responsive to my concerns. He listened and actually heard what I had to say; he didn't try to rush me. I left feeling confident that I had received the best possible diagnosis and advice.

Great doctor!
Dr Hunter was SO good at explaining the treatment plan for my son ( who is autistic) to us both. He was very kind to my kid and asked if he had any questions, then responded with a clear and respectful reply. My son felt heard and seen. If all doctors could be this good our lives would be so much easier. To the reviewer who only gave him one star because he asked if his colleagues could listen, if you had listened to what he probably told you, he dictates into his medical notes into his phone to be transcribed, he wasn't inviting people to listen in on your exam! If you had a question about that you should've addressed it with him instead of leaving a bad review!Elaine C - February 05, 2024

When I had an appointment with Dr Mark Hunter, he came into the examination room with phone in hand, already on speaker phone. He very dismissively asked if his colleages could listen to the appointment, acting like I'd agreed already and gave no assurances I'd still be seen if I said no. I felt incredibly violated, but I'd also been trying to get appointment for close to six months and had been making multiple dentist visits trying to figure out the cause of my pain. I agreed, more through coercion than consent. At no point did he tell me who was listening to my medical information, or even how many. After a few questions, he did tell me what was wrong and give a general treatment plan, but I didn't ask more than the bare minimum questions to understand the situation, because for all I knew, an entire college class was listening in. I still don't know the correct dosage of medication Hunter said I should be taking, but it's just extra extra strength pain killers, so if I taken more than I should, I'll just need to regrew some stomach lining.

Very Caring Practice
The staff in the office treat you like you are family. They know you by name and take the time to find out what you have been up to since last time they saw you. The staff is very professional and know their jobs well. Dr Hunter is very gentle and caring. You won't be sorry that you used this practice.

Would Not See Anyone Else for ENT
I highly recommend Dr. Hunter and his staff (especially his assistant Michelle!) My daughter had a troubling bump on her neck for many months. As it started to become painful and grow we decided to see a specialist. After an ultrasound and CT scan, Michelle got us in to see Dr. Hunter within a couple of days. He spent a good hour with us explaining the findings and the recommended course of treatment. A doctor that spends more that a few minutes with a patient is rare, to get an hour is amazing! My daughter ended up needing surgery which Dr. Hunter performed. It was more complicated that expected and he took extra time to do it right. Her results 4 weeks out are amazing and she barely has a scar (which is a big deal for a teenage girl). She also had very minimal nerve numbness which is a testament to how careful and precise Dr. Hunter was in this surgery. We are very grateful to him and his staff and would definitely come to him again for any serious ENT issues. Thanks Dr. Hunter!

Everything I want in a doctor
He listens. I had several concerns and he addressed them all He educates. He showed me and explained my test results. He diagnoses and prescribes treatment. The right diagnosis is essential to having the right treatment. He does not rush the encounter, busy though he was on the day I saw him. I am a retired nurse and I have personally experienced health care from both sides of the bed. Dr. Hunter is a gem.

Dr. Hunter is kind, caring and professional. His examination is comprehensive, and he explains everything extremely well. Unfortunately, I will be moving out of State and, although I asked, I will not be able to take him with me! Michelle is also an amazing person who is always helpful and kind. I recommend Dr. Hunter and his staff without qualification.

Dr. Hunter is amazing! My entire family have been patients of his over the years. He explains the diagnosis, causes, and treatment options very thoroughly. Recently he performed my daughter’s tonsillectomy. Everything went so smooth and exactly as he explained it would. For a first surgery, she wasn’t scared at all and felt completely comfortable with her surgeon and all of the medical staff. Dr Hunter is a brilliant physician and surgeon, but also a really wonderful person.

Dr. Hunter is great. His staff - another story altogether! Took over a week to get orders for a CT Scan sent to my imaging lab. When asked why - "we're so busy..." I'll get it done in an hour. So now, another day has passed, no order. Sheesh!
