I took my dad to the emergency room the other night and dr horvath was on duty. He was extremely rude and mainly didn't even come and check on my dad. After receiving two very strong pain meds, which we were only notified of one, my dad began to hallucinate. He was shaking all over, very short of breath and slurring his words. I told the nurse. He went and told the dr who was seated right outside of my dad's exam room. He looked over at me, rolled his eyes and never came in to examine my dad. He was very annoyed that we were there. He sat for hours and just listened to his music which was very loud and inappropriate. When I told the nurses that I didn't understand why he wasn't checking on my dad, he yelled over that it was okay if I didn't like him. I told him that he wasn't even checking on my dad. It wasn't like he was busy with other patients. He never left his chair. He was extremely unprofessional and when he finally came into the room, he completely turned away from me and ignored me. I was trying to tell him what my dad was feeling, but he acted very childish and disrespectful. I am very sad to say that his behavior was about as unprofessional as you can get. He acted like my dad was just making things up, when in fact, he found that my dad was suffering from a diseased gallbladder. He is 89 years old. I never write bad reviews, only good ones, but his behavior warranted me telling everyone that they should not seek treatment from him. I am hoping he retires when the hospital closes down because all patients deserve the best care with proper bedside manners from the medical staff.
