Profit over people; less skilled than predecessor
While he cares for clients, he is also excessively focused on profit margin of his business and applies tactics to defend his personal profit at any cost with the IV and supplement racket, I mean, sales. Charges significantly more for 'telehealth' appointments (i.e. basic phone calls lol) than in-office appointments of the same length. His office staff can be hysterical and don't understand basic technology. Other reviews are accurate that Dr. Gerold is less skilled than the former integrated practitioner at this location, whose practice he took over.

Not very skilled in integrative medicine
First off, let me say that I’ve been a regular patient of Medical Wellness Assoc. for 20+ years BEFORE Dr Gerold took over the Practice. After being prescribed a blood pressure pill ( the ONLY prescription drug I’ve ever taken in 20* years) and being monitored according to need by the former owner, Dr Gerold gave me 2 months to get off of the pills and only take supplements for my high bp condition. I’m overweight and have trouble walking due to a bad knee. I told him I cant do that in 2 months, Hes rude, cold and I don’t know what to do now. By the way, MY BLOOD PRESSURE WAS NOT TAKEN the day he made this statement, and very few times during the course of my visits. He makes more $$ selling supplements is my guess. Also, Dr Gerold has questionable bedside manners, and EVERY time he gave me acupuncture a few needles fell out while still laying on the bed during treatment. He’s a very poor replacement for the original owner of the Medical Wellness Associates.

Efficient and thorough
Dr. Gerold was very thorough with my case. I had an injury to the back of my knee cap that caused pain and inability to stand for long periods of time and difficulty walking up stairs. I received Hemozone for the issue and have had great success. He is knowledgeable, thorough and very compassionate.

Cost versus Benefits
Dr. Gerold is very kind, knowledgeable, thorough and highly trained. He takes his time to insure that patients are as numb as possible before PRP injections. He is very skillful in doing these injections. However, I find Dr. Gerold a little too eager to order extra supplements, adjunctive treatments and more PRP without consideration for the need, cost of these measures and the patient’s ability to pay. I wish he would consult with the patient about the benefits while being cost-conscious. Too many “add-on’s” may hinder the doctor-patient relationship. I did my own research and I discovered that not everyone needs 3 PRP injections one month apart. It is best to wait to assess the outcomes in 4 to 6 weeks.

Dr. Gerold is very effective at dealing with my many issues. I have multiple health problems which some past doctors have had problems correctly identifying and treating. Dr. Gerold is effectively treating me. Also, he and his staff are all professional, cheerful, and good at their jobs.

hedi part of his staff is arrogant and obnoxious, scheduled me for a appointment when office was closed , gerold will up sell you stuff your insurance will not cover, and your stuck paying full retail without knowing the costs ahead of time, over prescribes writing prescriptions for over the counter vitamins, stuff like that, mis diagnosed me, I fired him, I know of others who fired him, and know that he has been sued a few times according to the court docket, I'm happy now, with a new doctor
