Dr. Mark Checcone, MD

I had a basal cell removed by MOHS surgery that left a sizable 'hole' on the tip of my nose. I was referred to Dr. Checcone by my MOHS surgeon. I was very concerned about how this could be repaired while preserving my hose and how I've looked for 73 years! Dr. Checcone did a fabulous job - he's a magician. His nurse Maria and assistant Olivia were wonderful, too. I felt like the entire office was there to ensure my comfort and ease. I just went for my 2 weeks checkup and it's healed so well already. I highly recommend Dr. Checcone and his office staff if you have a similar need as I did.

Everyone was very nice, and it is nice to be treated well since you are the patient in need of help. Caring, smiling and laughing is good atmosphere for patients. I was very well taken care of by Dr. Checcone and his amazing staff. Ten years ago I was diagnosed with melanoma on my upper lip and had the cancer surgically removed. For the past decade I have been very self conscious because the surgery left my lip out of its normal alignment and I thought that I would just have to live with it that way for the rest of my life. The good news is that I had another less aggressive skin cancer removed from my face last year and my dermatologist highly recommended Dr. Checcone to me for getting things back together on that one. We discussed the latest issue and I also told him about the lip bothering me. What do you know?.............. I had a full facelift 4 years ago. Dr. Checcone was a wonderful professional who took good care of me and took years off my appearance. His staff is very helpful and friendly and professional as well. Now at 72 years old, people still believe that I am 20 years younger than I am! Outstanding I was referred to Dr. Checcone by my Dermatologist after having a melanoma removed from my face. I had a hole in my face at least the size of a quarter for a week, while waiting to hear whether or not all of the cancer had been removed. Dr. Checcone's staff was very polite, efficient, and attentive. Dr. Checcone evaluated the opening during a consult and then performed the surgery the next day. He is a talented plastic surgeon who did an outstanding job. He took a round hole and turned it into a longer scar which he moved closer to my jaw line so that it would appear more natural. It has healed very well and people who have seen the before and after can't believe it. He even managed to save my beard by ensuring the scar didn't interfere too much with the natural hair growth! Highly recommend.

Four years ago I had a failed skin graft from a dermatologist after MOHs surgery on my nose - my nostril collapsed when breathing in. Dr Checcone reconstructed the nose using a piece of bone from the nasal septum as structural support and remaking the nostril- scary with great outcome. I sought his expertise again for another basal cell on the other side of my nose- he made the incision so you can't see the repair after a few months.

I wish for the readers hereof to take a moment while I tell the good news regarding Dr. Checcone and his staff. Each member of the staff is welcoming and competent. When I placed my initial call, the voice at the other end enabled me to sense that the office would take good care of me. Because my left ear was almost completely blocked, my need for an appointment was urgent. April offered me a convenient appointment. From the moment I entered the waiting room, I was greeted cheerfully. April and Flo assisted me as needed in the completion of the new-patient forms. The waiting room is spacious, comfortable and attractive. Upon my first meeting with Dr. Checcone, I quickly sensed that I was in a very suitable place. I now know that Dr. Checcone is very skillful, confident, personable and sensitive to the needs of the patient. Most importantly, Dr. Checcone has proper qualifications both in otolaryngology (i.e., ENT) and plastic surgery. A patient could not ask for more.

I’m having surgery for chin implant and an open septoplasty functional rhinoplasty I think it’s what it’s called on June 24 th and cannot wait! I have scoured Sarasota for the best of the best and I am glad I picked dr Checcone as I truly believe he will do great! He is really good about staying with you until you understand everything and make you comfortable thanks dr Checcone!

I question the validity of these reviews. Dr checcone had to perform a second reconstructive surgery because his first was horrible. He clearly lacks experience and expertise. I would not recommend this office whatsoever.

I went in for moes surgery on January 23rd. On January 26th. I had surgery with Dr.Checking at Lakewood ranch hospital. I had a hole in my nose the size of a quarter. Dr.Checcone closed up the hole without any skin grafts and my nose looks fantastic a week later. Now two weeks later you can't even see where the stitches were. I was so worried what my face would look like prior to surgery and now I'm overwhelmed at the success. I couldn't be more satisfied. A BIG thank you to Dr.Checcone

Dr. Checcone is an excellent plastic surgeon.! I highly recommend him to any patient in the Sarasota area requiring his expertise. He is a very kind, caring and compassionate physician who goes the extra mile for his patients. My 87 year old mother was his patient. He started her visits with hugs and ended them the same way. His compassion gave her the peace to withstand the necessary procedures she required for her cancer treatments. This excellent physician deserves a 5 star rating!

Dr. Checcone did an excellent reconstruction job after I had extensive skin cancer removed from my nose. He is knowledgeable, professional, kind and gentle. His rapport with his staff is outstanding. I would not hesitate to see him again if the need arises.

I was referred to Dr. Checcone with a problem I had after Mohs surgery in a dermatologist's office. Dr. Checcone was excellent in his communication skills, his reconstructive surgery, and follow-up. He and his staff accommodated me in my sudden time of need. I was grateful for his expertise and calm manner when I was scared and worried about how I would look after healing. The outcome I had, due to his skill, was better than I even hoped for. I highly recommend him.

After our first consultation, you made me feel very comfortable. You not only removed the basil cell, but also pulled the tip of my nose up a bit. The stitches were made very finely, there was no inflammation or infection. Today, you can't even see where the incision was. The spot is still pinkish, but there is no scar. Your staff was kind, professional & had a great sense of humor, guiding through the procedure & afterwards. If I had to put it in one sentence: You have exceeded my expectations.

I had a mole revision with Dr Checcone. At first he was very pleasant and spent a lot of time explaining the procedure. However the incision took months to heal and kept getting infected. When I went back for follow up he brushed it off and tried to upsell me other services and laser procedures. I ended up having to go to my regular derm for her to excise and drain the wound. It was a long and painful ordeal, and now I am left with a large scar.

Poor bedside manner and poor work. During my surgery he kept scolding his medical assistants for putting supplies in the wrong place and not stocking things correctly. All while he had a knife to my face! It was extremely uncomfortable and left me with very bad scarring. I can't help but think it was because he was in a mood bad day. I regret coming to his office.

Dr. Checcone Is awesome. I went to him for filler and the results are phenomenal! The atmosphere is very high end, while maintaining a warm and friendly feeling. Would recommend him to anyone!

Dr Mark Checonne did an amazing job after I had a skin cancer on my nose that was quite large. Its healing up very well and eventually there will hardly be a scar. My friends are amazed how well it looks in such a short time. A very gifted Doctor.!
