Went In with a broken collerbone. Proceeded to tell me I had some syndrome that basically meant it’s all in my head, was very rough with me when feeling my bone seeing where I was in pain. Pressured me into getting MRI. Said I can’t due to financial reasons. Asked if I needed to talk to mommy and daddy first. I’m married and work full time and I explained again about financial reasons. Asked if my husband would say no because he didn’t want to pay for me, I said no I actually pay for everything on my own. Was very upset. I sobbed in my car after the visit because I was NOT taken seriously and he made me feel extremely stupid and that I was faking my broken bone and pain from it. It is a hairline fracture so it’s not huge but I’m still in pain and he made my pain ten times worse. Thanks for nothing Dr Carlson.

Spent as much time as I required
I visited Dr. Carlson for hip pain. He spent a significant amount of time with me, took substantial notes (which were made available digitally within the hour), and had a perfectly personable demeanor. The one star reviews left here I can only assume are left by someone with an ax to grind. I will happily visit him again and recommend him to others.

I had an appt. to see Dr. Carlson to get a cortisone shot in my elbow. He walked into the room, right past me, mumbled something like Dr. Carlson, and sat on his stool. There was no handshake, no smile, no nice to meet you. I told him I had tried the ice packs and ibuprofen for two weeks - that this had been bothering me for about 2 months. He told me, three times, that he wasn't impressed. (I wasn't there to impress anyone)! He did have X-rays taken and told me I had medial epicondyosis and that there were four options: surgery, time (6 - 12 months) injections and eccentric therapy. He said he would not do an injection because it would only last 2-3 months and then I would be back asking for another. I have had cortisone shots in both hips and they have helped me tremendously and I haven't had to go back in 2-3 months. He insisted therapy was the answer of which I said I have not had good luck with therapy. I felt he was rude, arrogant, and I definitely will NOT see him again!

If you like arrogant, self-important Dr's that make you feel like you're wasting their precious time then this tiny little rockabilly man child is your guy. No greeting, no person skills, just an entry into the room and a command of 'talk to me'. Rude, condescending & very dismissive. If you think I'm just someone who had a bad experience, google his name & read the reviews. How he stays employed & is Sanfords "go to guy" in sports medicine is beyond me. Someone needs to wake up.
