I would not be here if not for Dr Capener.
I credit Dr Capener and his knowledge with saving my life. I was basically being ignored at another medical office, and called VA to tell them I would not go back to that other practitioner. They hooked me up with Dr Capener. The other one said my problem was diet, and to come back in a year. My issue was found in my first office visit and was Stage 4 Papillary Thyroid Cancer. I didn't have another year. Dr Capener operated within days and was in my room at least twice a day, every single day I was there. The night time visits were an hour and a half at least, every single night. He has since done 3 more serious procedures on me, and every single one has been a totally positive experience. I am in the process for another possibly serious surgery and I have total confidence in my choice to stay with this wonderful provider. He is extremely knowledgeable and experienced, and genuinely cares about his patients. I thank God for him and his incredible work as a Medical Professional.

There was a medical student present everytime I went in. I didn't get a choice whether the student was there or not. The doctor seemed to be this guy's teacher and talked to him like I wasn't even there. I just "overheard" what he said about me. He ordered a bunch of expensive tests to be done at Mountain View Hospital, but never told me what they showed, only that I didn't have Cancer. He never examined me, no blood pressure tests, no weigh ins. Nothing. I just sat there feeling quite invisible. I didn't feel confident at all that I was being taken care of. The girls in the office were nice, but didn't seem to know anything. It appears his standard office call is over $200 to basically watch him tap away on his laptop and visit with his student. I usually don't let reviews keep me from going to see a doctor for various reasons, but the bad reviews on this one were pretty much my experience also. I'm still looking for a doctor. :(

Unprofessional Behavior
Possibly one of the absolute worst experiences I’ve ever had with a medical professional. He did not explain anything and began performing tests and wanted me to schedule surgery the very next day with 0 explanation. He has financial ties with the surgery center and therefore is completely rushing to perform surgeries on anything. The bill wasn’t filed until nearly 8 months after the office visit with absurd charges from a simple 5 minute visit. Incredibly unprofessional physician and did not even perform an adequate examination just wanted to rack up charges.

Dr Capener consistently and was determined to diagnose me, reassuring me I did not have cancer multiple times. He conducted an endoscopy, biopsy and medications as long as your arm over a 6 week period. I just got worse. Finally he took an x-ray showing a mass in my lung and ordered a needle led biopsy. While sitting in the oncologist office waiting for diagnosis, Capener phoned me to say I would be Okay, and things were fine. The oncologist literally walked into the room as I was hanging up from Capener, and finally correctly diagnosed stage 3B lung cancer. I told him Capener had just told me I would be fine. The oncologist said “Who are you going to believe, the ENT or the Cancer specialist?” In addition, Capener’s incredible focus on conspiracies and extreme political views is insane. He will bring any topic possible into an appointment, irrelevant and ridiculous. I did not leave any appointment without being lectured on “the China virus,” “Rand Paul was right” etc

Dr. Capener Very very rude, nasty, and unprofessional! Called from a pharmacy to verify missing patient info and DEA number just to get cussed out at! Saying that's not his job and how the f**ck he's supposed to know. Needs to learn how to have a civil conversation and take care of his patients! Terrible!

WARNING! This doctor charges for services NOT rendered. I have called the office numerous times over the past couple months and they will not call me back. Instead they just keep sending me the bill along with a consent form I signed. Yes, I signed a form for the procedure but didn’t have the procedure. The doctor was unable to do it because it was too painful and said he would do it in the hospital. This is a $500 charge, being a retired senior I cannot pay for procedures I don’t have. I’m going to inform my referring doctor Rindfleisch of their horrible customer service and over billing practices.

I highly recommend Dr Capener. He truly is the best doctor. Before seeing Dr Capener I tried several other doctors and they didn't know how to help me. Even after having surgery I was still suffering so much I was at risk of losing my job. I was suffering with nasal polyps, asthma, severe cough and loss of smell and taste. A relative of mine referred me to Dr Capener and ever since my first visit with him I feel so much better, like I have my life back. He has done whatever he can to help me. He always makes sure I am comfortable. I even travel 2 1/2 hours to see him. He is a very knowledgeable and thorough doctor who really cares about his patients.

Dr Capener and his staff have been so wonderful to work with. My 18 year old son has his Wisdom teeth AND tonsils removed in one surgery. Dr Capener was excellent. (Dr Mark Elison was also) He answered cell calls and helped us with each issue. I couldnt recommend him any higher. Truly lucky to have him in our area. Hes fantastic.

Dr. Capener has put tubes in my oldest daughters ears and he has taken her tonsils and adenoids out. I my self have had my sinuses worked on and my tonsils and adenoids taken out by him. I am amazed how well I am sleeping and how much better I can smell and breath! I will be getting my youngest daughters tonsils and adenoids out soon as well. I would highly recommend him.

This office is by far the most unorganized and staff is short/rude. I’ve had to come here 3 times and every time I’ve waited over an hour past my appointment while other people that come in after me are seen. Dr. Capener himself is not bad but his staff are horrible. Also I was seen in january and just received a bill this week telling me it’s past due and due upon receipt. I’ve called numerous times to check on a bill prior to getting this bill and got 1 call back from billing. I’d never recom.

Flip flops between diagnosis when it benefits him, leaving me completely and utterly confused. Getting a second opinion and not looking back. Bills your insurance for 15 minute follow up appointments, but stacks 7 other appointments during the 1 hour & 15 minutes PAST my scheduled appointment & it isn't just one occurrence. Spends the least amount of time while making all the patients wait ridiculously long waiting times. The nursing staff is nice, front receptionist could be friendlier.

He staff isn't very kind. His answering service during lunch hours is very rude, and short. Wouldn't let me leave a message. Dr, Capener is not very professional. He cauterized my sons nose, and now he has a hole in his septum. I wouldn't take him back there for the follow up, I took him to Hinkley instead. Capener ruined my sons nose. Hinkley doesn't carterized both sides, because it could cause a hole. Well....I will never refer him to a single person. And never take any family member back

Dr. Capener is always available when I need him. I have been having sinus problems for the last 8 months. He has stayed on top of all of my infections and issues. He has treated all of my concerns and I am finally feeling much better. I have never had another doctor go above and beyond for my health, like he has. Overall he is an excellent Doctor!

Following the surgery in 2010, a long strip of cartilage (over 6 inches) fell out of my nose and was still attached. I clipped it off myself and went for a follow-up appointment to have it trimmed better. I was told this was normal. In an appointment years later at Stanford University hospital, the specialist noticed that a wall of my nose was collapsed due to surgery. He asked if I had this surgery in this country.

I think Dr.Capener is an excellent doctor. Recently saw him for a suspicious spot on my tonsils, which he decided must come out with my adenoids. We also discussed my chronic snoring and determined some work should be done on my septum at the same time. Him and his staff did an excellent job communicating with my insurance to get it approved in a very timely fashion. The procedure went well, and he was very attentive to my pain management after the fact.I would highly recommend him to any one.
