He removed my Mother’s chemo port last week. It was a very traumatic experience for her. He did not wait for the anesthetic injection to work before he started cutting, so she felt everything. From the cutting, to the pulling, to the stitches. He did not warn her before the steps so she would be aware of what he was doing. He even left the room when he was done without informing her. The assistant told her he had left. Her face was covered with the paper blanket and he was going to move it but never did. This should have been a simple painless procedure. She was in terrible pain all night and ended up in the ER with a severe infection the following morning. This should not have happened nor been her experience after surgery and 12 rounds of chemo. White Plains Hosp: You need to do better. This is inexcusable.
