Horrendous- waste of time
This doctor continued to inject the wrong S1 joint and when I reported no relief he stated my pain didn’t make sense. Then he asked what do you want? I stated a second opinion. All of a sudden he pulls up the MRI and says I know what is causing your pain it looks like a pinched nerve. This was the very first time he ever mentioned treating this other area. Instead, like others reported he was rude and made me feel like I had to justify my pain to him. I’m keeping it short for character limit issues but this doctor caused trauma and trust issues with providers and should be investigated.

The Doctor is very arrogant condescending and rude. Never once in the 2 years that I went to go see him did we ever have a conversation that I didn't feel a little or even Understood. Had several injections done in my back and I kept on telling them that the injections were wearing off quicker and quicker and we needed to do something else. Normally when I get injections in my back I deal immediate release of pain but the last time I got injections it hurt so incredibly bad that they had to wheel chair me out of the procedure room then the staff had to go get me ice and literally was pushed out the door in 5 minutes when I was crying in pain he had no concern for it after making my next appointment they have someone come get me and take me out of the office and put me outside to wait for my ride. On my last visit we were supposed to talk about a bone stimulator and right off the bat he told me that medicaid wasn't covering it.. I asked him to try and he said he would but further along in the conversation when I ask why is medicaid not covering it he says well it's just because I asked him why didn't my Doctor say to do it and he's like because that's what he recommended he's caused me to have a panic attack in his office and I was crying and trying to calm down and he wouldn't answer my questions and so he says I was interrupting him and I wasn't listening to what he had to say. He literally stopped our conversation and had a temper tantrum like a toddler and said I'm not your patient anymore and walked out of the room slamming the door. Now I can't go see any other doctor at the same office because it's against their policy For me to see a different pain management Doctor at a different facility. Furthermore he has the worst bedside manner when you ask him a question he's Makes you feel like your problem that you're telling him is not real I would highly highly highly recommend not seeing this Doctor worst experience of my life and furthermore the emotional stress and basically Treating me like I'm an idiot and that I don't have pain. I was refer to pain management because of the pain that I have I've had multiple surgeries and I still am an excruciating pain had an MRI and they showed my MRI there were several things wrong but since it wasn't next to the nerves they weren't worried about it. I I asked him to refill my pain medication that my BCP prescribed for me because I want my pain management Doctor to take care of my paint not my PCP and he would not refill it because she had ordered it already. He's a pain management Doctor and he really does not care about your pain he is considering and rude and not to mention when you go in to the patient portal and you read what he writes about you there lies he does not put everything in there and furthermore he doesn't include what he did. I will never see that Doctor again and if anybody goes and sees him I feel sorry for you and I'm sorry that you're never gonna get taken care of the way you should.

Dr Bilezikjian was great!!
After reading reviews, I became very nervous and scared to do this procedure with Dr Bilezikjian. I'm so glad I talked with my doctor about it, because Dr Bilezikjian was incredibly nice and he would tell me when I would feel pressure. The nurse was excellent. I don't remember her name, but she was very comforting. I had a good experience with the whole staff. I understand others might have had bad experience in their visit, but why scare others? I just wanted to let others know that my experience with this doctor was good and he was very nice.

Horrible experience
Run from this doctor and St. Luke's pain clinic as fast as you can and go to KU! I can't emphasize this enough. The treatment my husband received at this clinic at the hands of Dr. Bilezikjian and his nurse practitioner, Emily Beerman, was atrocious. Over the course of a couple of years, he had five radio frequency ablations - a procedure where they burn the nerves on your spine that sit directly on top of bones - with nothing more than local anesthetics. He told this to his new pain management team at KU and they were stunned. At KU, they do ablations with fentanyl plus something else. By the way, my husband doesn't even need ablations and probably never did! This is the worst of many offenses at St. Luke's pain clinic. My upstanding, high-pain-tolerance husband who refuses to take narcotics of any kind was repeatedly gaslit, not believed, and treated with minimal to no compassion. They basically told him to live with it when their few ideas didn't work.

I couldn’t disagree more
I read some reviews about how Dr. Bilezikjian was not a good listener, that he was not innovative in his treatment of pain, poor staff, etc. Rubbish! Those reviews do not parallel my experiences over the past three years. Pain is one of the most difficult conditions for any physician to treat. Quality of discrimination of pain levels varies among patients let along the same patient at different times. So what do you have here? You have a physician who cares, who employs the most up-to-date techniques to help his patients-enhanced by the learning institution that his hospital contains-and based on my own personal experience, a success rate, much higher than was reasonable to expect. I have had way too much experience with pain, including that generated by numerous unsuccessful surgeries, and a prognosis that at best is poor. I go in to see this physician simply because he improves the quality of my life. And the staff at all levels is great! Go see for yourself.

Doesn't listen. The patient is always wrong.
I saw him several times and each time he was self centered and rude. I had pain for years that finally became too much for OTC medications. He was willing to prescribe prescription medications, but, at every visit, he lectured me about problems I didn't have. He tried injections that I finally agreed to, just to stop the lectures. When they didn't work, he suggested exercise, which caused more pain. He refused to refer me elsewhere & got angry when I reported that I'd obtained some pain relief (that he'd refused to try) from treatment by another doctor. OK. I give up. He's perfect, and it's my fault his pills didn't fix the underlying problem.

Knowledgeable, Thorough, Helpful
I read Dr. B’s reviews before my appointment and was preparing for the worst and hoping for the best. Fortunately the latter prevailed and I had an excellent visit. Dr. B is extremely knowledgeable, insightful, and direct. I think his directness may be one thing that could potentially turn people off. Since I appreciate candor above just about every outside of honesty, integrity, and expertise, I didn’t mind it whatsoever. In fact, I loved it and am glad to have him on my care team for some issues with my back I’ve been dealing with. He gave great recommendations and very helpful information. Not only that be he bore with my incessant curiosity swimmingly. I’m happy to recommend Dr. Bilezikjian!

I was referred by a doctor I'd known for years who prescribed medication that helped, but he felt that long term pain management should be done by a specialist. After repeated appointments, the only help provided was additional prescriptions. I kept saying 1) that the medicine weren't working well, 2) that I didn't want an increase in dosage and 3) since they'd told me of other wonderful treatments Dr Bilezikjian could do, I wanted to try something else. I finally revisited my original doctor, who suggested several possible treatments I should try to discuss. In a 3-4 minute conversation, Dr Belezikjian, with no explanation, decided the only thing he would provide was more pills. I'm going to another pain clinic now, and surprise, surprise... they listened, tried other treatments that helped, and now I've cooled off so I can leave a review without cuss words.

I was a patient at the pain Clinic for 4 years under a different dr, then he came to town and was rude to me & changed my regimens. He ordered a regimen that was good for him and he didn’t even listen to my medical issues. His NP Emily Beerman also never listened to my complaints. I think they didn’t believe I had neck & low back pain from years of nursing. Yes I am a nurse & I have been treated very poorly by them at SLH pain clinic. Then during the Covid 19 issue there was a miscommunication with an virtual appt, then I got a letter he fired me. Out of the blue, no warning, nothing. Then I received a call from the nurse manager & she agreed I should of had some communication from them if there was an issue. The most important person is supposed to be the patient. And you will not be treated that way at SLH pain clinic. He is condescending & narcissistic. I feel sorry for them....they don’t listen to the patient.

My experience with Dr. Bilezikjian was horrible. I'm 35 years old and suffer from chronic pain, was referred to see this physician. He was super rude, careless, made fun of my condition, and told me to deal with it. He did not suggest any further testing, nor treatment. He made decisions on his personal opinion and not facts. I would not recommend this physician to anyone.
