Dr. Cruel
This man was harsh, condescending, rude. He makes you feel stupid, and even raises his voice at you, as if you were a child. After two visits similar to this, my family will never see this man again. His demeanor should be reviewed. Pathetic person.

If I could give Dr. Austin 0 stars I would. He was awful and treated my Dad with complete disrespect. His voice was elevated the entire appointment and his tone was angry and arrogant. He yelled at my Dad like a parent would scold a child. It was awful. When my Dad was having a hard time determining "better 1 or 2" Dr. Austin yelled that my Dad needed to concentrate and pay attention. I was stunned! Dr. Austin reminded us that HIS time was valuable and that because of us, he would have to work until 6pm tonight. His statements were ridiculous, rude and unprofessional. We will never return to his office.

Poor bedside manner
Dr. Austin’s attitude toward me was harsh and condescending during my appointment. He had not reviewed the data sent by my prior doctor and was dismissive of my concerns.

I am 70 year old retired LEO (Deputy Sheriff - Wisconsin) After meeting with Dr. Austin and discussing a plan of attack I become comfortable with him addressing my condition and treatment for it! (Note he IS a very busy Dr. and really doesn't have time for general chit-chat) so for those who need a 1/2 hour of Greetings and Salutations? Dr. Austin is NOT your go to Specialist! But IS a highly skilled and very direct Doctor

Terrible provider
Dr. Austin was rushed and abrupt. He barely greeted me. I mentioned the 2 other issues I wanted to talk about when I booked the appointment and he didn’t ask anything about them, made inaccurate assumptions and just started talking about a referral to a surgeon. He was impatient wen I struggled to identify minute differences in views during my exam, to the point that he said, “for the 6th time”, as he flipped between the views. I had to remind him of a lump in the corner of my eye that I wanted to address; he would have just left the room after the exam had I not reminded him to look at it. After he finally felt what I was referring to, when he finally listened to me and stopped assuming he knew what I was talking about, he dismissed this too and just talked more about a surgeon. I went to an ophthalmologist specifically because I needed more than just an exam but I might as well have gone to LensCrafters for what he provided. I won’t ever go back there.

Dr. was a bit harsh in his patient etiquette, but did do a thorough exam and diagnosed the problem. Front desk staff member was rude, a poor listener and basically idiotic. Front desk employees are the first impression to your business. Recommend a class in patient phone etiquette and customer service for the employee that mans the front desk and answers the phone.

Dr. Austin seemed to be a very competent doctor. However, his pompous attitude and condescending tone made for a very unpleasant experience. It was also quite unnerving that he was accompanied by other people that sat behind me in the small exam room during my exam in the midst of a global pandemic. An explanation of who they were and why they were there would have been appreciated. I tried to ask, but was interrupted each time.

I have a condition that makes my skin thin and easily damaged. When I asked Dr. Austin to please be careful when removing the cataract drape from my face, he yelled at me that he couldn't change what he does, then stomped around like a three-year-old and ranted more about deciding to go forward with my procedure. This was apalling, frightening, and humiliating.

I don't believe he really listened to or addressed all the issues I was having. He seemed to have a set response to the condition he diagnosed and didn't look at symptoms that were outside of the norm. Subsequent visit with another specialist revealed that several issues I repeatedly brought to his attention were never mentioned in his notes. 12 hours after visit with another doctor and a simple remedy that I had asked Dr Austin about and was told wasn't necessary, I have relief!
