Worst care ever
He not only seemed disinterested concerning my problem, but he left me waiting in the exam room for an hour. He forgot me! It was only after a room check did they realize I was still waiting. He had already examined me, but left for some reason and didn’t return. I left furious.

Just in it for the money
I've had many dermatologists throughout my life and my experience with Dr. Amster was by far the worst I've had. Every appointment was less than 5 minutes and it was clear that there was poor attention to detail. I had to pay over $200 for a 30 second appointment where the doctor did not even look closely at my skin, and just told me that we could make a better judgement in a couple of months. Dr. Amster also had terrible consideration for other's financial situations, as I was told that a skin tag removal would "only cost a few hundred dollars." Between the disrespect towards his staff and the evident lack of care for his patients, I will never recommend Dr. Amster to others. Find a different dermatologist!

Skyrizi treatments went well. when asked to look at a mole person said nothing there. Months later asked her to look at it again. "maybe we should do a biopsy" Guess what.MELANOMA. How am I supposed to process this. trusted her judgement which turned into a giant sink hole. No one is Perfect but almost has sent me down a road that no one wants to experience

Do NOT go to this doctor! I was eager to see a dermatologist sooner than later (many other places I called had a month+ wait) What a mistake! During the 2 minutes I was with Dr. Amster, he did a a quick peripheral glance at my face and told me I had acne. I told him I had very sensitive skin and was allergic to a certain ingredient that's in some facial products. He proceeded to knowingly prescribe me three different prescriptions all with this ingredient in them. When I called to get a new prescription, he ended up prescribing me a cream that burned my skin and caused my eyelids to swell. The pain was unbearable. I have since gone to a different dermatologist, who correctly diagnosed my condition (i.e. which was NOT acne). Going to a professional doctor made me realize how truly horrible Dr. Amster is. It's a miracle he still has his license.

Treated my wife today. Aside from being upset with the exam and gruff behavior, she was shocked that people were removing masks and shaking hands (Bad COVID Hygiene). He was pulling his mask out to talk at point blank range and shaking peoples hands.

Dr. Mark Amster was dismissive of my concerns and gave me the impression that he was an arrogant unsympathetic know it all who hasn't bothered to keep up to date with any new medical advances/research findings since the day that he had become a dermatologist 25+years ago. I've personally done a lot of research and read into numerous recent studies as it relates to my condition. However, Dr. Amster was automatically dismissive of these studies but could not provide me sufficient rationale/explanation to support his position. Dr. Amster is the worst dermatologist that i've seen in my 20+ years of life. If you are looking for an older dermatologist who will dismiss science, recent findings, your feelings, and cannot provide sufficient information to support his position, then he is the right dermatologist for you. To the potential new patient behind the computer, i might not know you....but i hope that you will take the time to look for a more competent dermatologist for yourself.

Dr. Amster is thoughtful and professional in responding to questions and concerns. Good eye contact and 'bedside' manner. He has monitored and treated me for skin cancer for three years.

Spent at most 2 minuets with me. Did not tried to figure out the cause of the problem. I feel like I would do a better job on my own.

Spent maximum of 2 minutes with me. Incomplete physical assessment. Poor eye contact. Couldn't be bothered. Find a competent dermatologist. He is not one.

Dr. Amster is by far the worst medical providers I have come across. He takes absolutely NO TIME to address your questions or concerns. Is very dismissive of what the course of action would be. He was supposed to do a Botox procedure for me (not cosmetic), he did not do half the things other dermatologists did in the past. I moved town and that;s how I met this provider. There is no dearth of good medical providers who are genuinely concerned about the well being, he is not that guy. STAY AWAY

Very negative experience. Went in for moderate acne. Spent at most 90 seconds with me (I'm being generous). Didn't take the time to ask my history or discuss questions/concerns. Also called my acne wild, which I found insensitive. I work in healthcare and understand the importance of efficiency. However, there is a difference between efficiency and rudeness, and Dr. Amster was definitely the latter. I left with no confidence that his recommendations were right for me. Will be going elsewhere.
