I'm not sure where all the high marks are coming from for this doctor or why people are recommending him, but my own experience was absolutely awful and very traumatic. I now have an eyelid that doesn't blink automatically. I'm now a circus freak! I don't like interacting with people or go out in public anymore. I am very traumatized by the results of this so-called "reparative" eyelid surgery. The nerves were damaged by the surgery. One eye blinks while the other eye remains open. I'm having to put ointment into my eye before going to bed every night and I end up with eye pains, discomfort, and a watery/leaky eye anyway. I get no sleep. This doctor told me, "Who needs eyelids when we have ointments?!" Unbelievable! I wish I never had this surgery done but especially by this man! My eyelid is much worse than what it was prior to surgery. If I were to grade him, it would be an F!

I'd have to agree with all the most recent reviews. Bad. Demeaming and a real snob. And massivily expensive - over $450 for a consultation and drainage test. Will let my doctor know not to refer anyone again.

Referred after cataract surgery for eyelid issues with redness & dry eyesMy eye dr said it was a medical issue & Medicare would cover repair surgery.Dr Alford had a very flippant & condescending attitude He told me basically my Dr was wrong & maybe my eyes were like that before....of course my insurance is Medicare also...Find a dr who hears you with a good bedside manner.... not this one..

Complete Nightmare of an experience by Dr. Alford during my blepharoplasty!! I felt tortured during the procedure and was in extreme pain throughout. I was alert and clearly expressed my discomfort during the process, yet he failed to give me the necessary anesthetics locally to ease the pain. On top of that, he made it clear to me and my husband, that he does not want to provide care for patients like myself who are on Medicare and would “prefer to just accept private pay patients because they pay more.” I can’t believe a doctor would even say such a thing, very unprofessional. I would not recommend Dr. Alford to anyone overall, especially if you are on Medicare.

I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Alford. He did upper and lower lids and they turned out very nicely. Afterwards, I went back for some growths that he removed. I would use him in the future and I've referred several people to him.

Dr. Alford is one of the best doctors I have been to. He's very down to earth, very caring and takes the time to explain things in depth if you have questions. And overall he's just a really nice guy. I have been going to him for a long time and wouldn't change unless for some reason I absolutely had to. His assistant Vanessa is the greatest too!
