Marissa listened to me and treated me like a human being. She is compassionate, knowledgeable and wise. She has an open mind to learning new things and actively follows research and new developments in both psychiatry and pharmacology. Marissa and her husband, with whom she shares a practice, are experts in safe, slow and sensible psychiatric medication tapering (especially benzodiazepines!), as well as multiple medication management (“poly-pharmacy”) and dealing with pharmaceutical damage. I have been dealing with doctors, therapists, pills and hospitals (the psych industry) for the past 33 years. My case is quite complex. Marissa helped me when I was in a very bad place. While under her care, I began to “get better”. I could say more, but it would be all hyperbole.

Highly Recommend
Giving this review over a year post Benzo and I could not have done it without the unwavering support of Dr. Marisa Witt-Doerring. I found Witt-Doerring through a Benzo support group and had my initial consultation and was immediately impressed by her extensive knowledge on going through with withdrawal. I had honestly lost hope in the medical community by being constantly pushed aside by my desire to go through a self-paced taper to eliminate as much discomfort as possible. Dr. Witt-Doerring took the time to hear my concerns and worked with me every step of the way through a PATIENT-LED withdrawal. I never felt at any point that I was rushed or uneducated in my decisions. In all my research online and through Benzo communities, I don’t think there is another practice that is educated and as passionate about educating the medical field and patients alike on the side effects of medication and proper withdrawal as Witt-Doerring. They’re doing REALLY incredible work. Forever grateful!
