Arthritic knee
Dr. John listened carefully to all that was going on with my knee. His PA was also well educated in my treatment. So far so good. Thanks Dr Mario John!

Hip replacement
He is a very caring Dr. Replaced both my hips. Did an awesome job. Was riding my horse again 6 weeks after the second hip was done. I would highly recommend him.

Dr.John did my knee replacement in October of 2022 and ever since my quality of life has improved. I’m able to walk without pain I’m able to ride my horses and barrel race again. In December 2023 I was involved in a vehicle accident when someone hit me and I went to see Dr. John bc I was having some discomfort in my knee he check it and everything is still in place and strong. I absolutely adore Dr. John and will not see any other orthopedic surgeon but him he is amazing and when the time ever comes that I have to have my other knee done Dr.John will be the Orthopedic surgeon doing itThank you so much Dr.John for giving me my life back

I would have liked to experience the same as those who thought he was wonderful, but in my case, he spent less than five minutes with me on a visit. The summary of the visit has errors, and the medication he said he was going to give me was never sent to the pharmacy. His assistant was great, but the doctor seemed to have not even read my chart. I will never go back. If I could give less than a 1, I would.

Great Dr
Dr John is great. He tells it like it is and doesn’t sugar coat anything. I appreciate that. He performed my complete hip replacement and promised me no pain. I can tell you this Dr is spot on. I was up and walking the same day. I can’t thank him enough.

Worse doctor ever!
This doctor is the worst doctor ever! He was rude, wouldn't even look at me when he talked and wouldn't listen to me about how my pain started. He wouldn't look at all the previous paperwork that I had to show him with previous tests MRI's etc. All he was looking at was an xray on my knees. He told me I had bone on bone and gave me a cortisone shot in my left knee. He didn't look at any other xrays that I had or listen to me at all! He kept cutting me off when I tried to talk. But he managed to talk to my daughter in law about Brazil and his son more than he talked to me about my health! I will never go back to him again!

A Great Doctor
I saw Dr, John a few months ago and I was unable to walk or stand without a walker. I was diagnosed with Severe arthritic right hip with superior and lateral subluxation of the femoral head in relation to the acetabulum. Right acetabular and femoral head dysplasia, similar. No acute fracture. No complete dislocation. He said without a hip replacement I would never be able to walk again and the pain would worsen. He said he would help me and get me back so I could have a normal life again without living with severe pain. On June 28 2022 he did my hip replacement and I was with my physical therapist the next day walking a short distance but it hurt less than before the operation. Each day I walked a little further and there is less pain. It is 8/15/2022 and I'm able to get around with my rollator and am able to get out and go shopping with my wife and am getting stronger every day. I highly recommend Dr. John and his staff to anyone who needs a hip replacement.

I am a nurse and I trusted Dr. John to do my anterior approach hip replacement because of his calm demeanor and wonderful bedside manner. He never rushed me into having surgery, despite me having bone on bone arthritis in my hip. Unlike other surgeons in the past, Dr. John took his time and developed what he called so aptly, a 'therapeutic alliance' in so doing 'getting to know me'. He did the surgery and I was out the same day. By the second week I walked into his office with not even a cane. I was quite surprised at how little pain I experienced after surgery. By 4 weeks I was back to my usual daily activities.

My left knee was replaced on 2012. In 2019 I started with terrible pain, on March, 2020 I visited the author of the books used by students to become knee and hip surgeons. After reviewing the data, he said there were no problems. On Sept. 2021 I found Dr. John at W. Park. I told my story and play a recording of the knee noises. He asked who referred me and I said: GOD. After hearing my answer he bowed his head and said: this is my last day at this office, I’m moving to Lakeland. I replied: If HE wants you to be my surgeon, I will follow you. After checking the knee he said: Looks like there are loose components, I will order a test to confirm this and another to make sure there is no infection. Surgery was on Nov. 2021 and for 30 days he called daily to ask how I was. I will definitely recommend Dr. John. He is a humble man, down to earth and excellent listener with the professional knowledge to treat patients as he wants his family to be treated. Thank you LORD for Dr. John.

I was turned down by 4 other Orthopedic Surgeons because I have severe venous insufficiency and Below the knee amputation from cancer 17 years ago. When I met with Dr. Mario John he explained the risks and was as thoughtful as it gets. He saw me before surgery , after surgery and everyday till I got released . I had mrsa when I lost my left leg. He went to the extreme of even though I wasn’t a carrier of MRSA I was asked to put ointment in my nostrils for a week before surgery. I almost lost my right leg to MRSA and had a surgery every 2 weeks for 6 weeks. Something led to meet Dr. Mario John and when I did he made me feel so confident in his abilities to help me that I agreed . The care the follow up phone calls from him after I got home is so impressive that we all know that don’t happen much . I want to Thank you from the bottom of my heart because if it wouldn’t have been successful I would have lost my left leg at the crotch. Anterior post op TOTAL SUCCESS.Thank you Dr. Mario John

Dr. Mario John is one of the most informative and compassionate Orthopedic Surgeons I’ve ever met! Dr. John will ALWAYS provide you with the best care possible, and if he is unable to do so, he’ll find a doctor that is able to. Dr. John went way out of his way to find a top hand surgeon for an injured that I had. He was honest and told me that him doing the surgery would not be best for my recovery, as he did not specialize in hands. Instead, he went above and beyond to make sure I found the best surgeon for my injured wrist. Dr. John will make sure you’re always comfortable and that you leave his office confident in your treatment plan. He goes into great detail in explaining everything that may be going on with your injury. I am sad I can no longer see him for my wrist injury, but it was a great honor to be treated by him in the short time I saw him. I most certainly will be going back to him if I have any other ortho issues. I never write reviews but Dr. John was worth it!

I have to say I had a wonderful experience under the care of Dr. John. He is what a true surgeon should be and a great example to his profession. I did a partial knee replacement with him and from the first day I knew I had the surgeon I wanted to do my case. I originally came to him for a second opinion. One surgeon on the first visit told me I needed a totally knee replacement. I was skeptical because I am 55 and I thought why would I need a total knee replacement. I went to Dr. John and he offered me medication by mouth or an injection. After taking me through the thought process of what to do I opted to do medication. I did well with it until it was no longer working. He then gave me an injection. This lasted for a year. I was comfortable when he told me I would need a partial knee replacement. I did the surgery, I was out of the hospital same day and walking without anything in 1 week. This was truly a seemless process. I was very happy to find this doctor. I enjoyed everything.

listened to my issues and explained everything quite well. I had a total knee replcaement on Tuesday and was walking unassisted, with either a walker or cane, by that Friday. That's 3 days later and with only a 1/8 by 6 inch scar.
