Fantastic Practitioner
Been a patient of Dr. Capio, Sheena Shah, and so many other medical practitioners at West Parkway Medical for close to 20 years. Cannot say I've had the same experience as other reviewers here, but then again I tend to be a friendly and convivial person by nature.Dr. Capio, Sheena, and the staff have consistently taken great care of me and my concerns. The treatment & attention I receive each time has kept me coming back. The staff is very friendly and welcoming to me each visit. Dr. Capio is a top NJ Doctor for good reason. Sheena Shah is happy to treat me when something urgent comes up. Thank you, all!

Unresponsive office
The office staff is rude, often cutting me off with comments before hearing why I’m calling. The staff then tells me that the doctor or PA will call me back, but nobody ever does. They only seem concerned with generating revenue through office visits. They don’t seem to want to assist their patients at all.

Been seeing Dr Capio for many years. He is an excellent doctor and an all around good guy. Never rushes you out and address all your issues. I would and have recommended him and his practice.

Reply #1 My name is Denise, and I am the office manager for Dr. Capio. I am responding to the anonymous message left on March, 31st, 2021. I realize that it is six months after the fact, but I was prompted to do so because the same anonymous patient sent a disturbing letter to Dr. Capio which we received on Wednesday, August 4th. The letter itself is dated August 1st, 2021. We believe it’s the same person as it was referring to the same complaint about the “contrast dye allergy.” The person states they see Dr. Capio “in public somewhat frequently” and they going to keep said letter with them so they can confront the doctor when they next see him. That, the fact that this letter was sent six months after the review and the fact that both the letter and review are anonymous lend a stalker-like quality to these exchanges. The person also states that I was noted in Healthgrades review of the doctor and that I “threatened” a patient because of their review.

The doctor will never know how bad the front office is because it is run by his wife. He became my primary care doctor and the first time I needed him in order to ask him about whether I should take the vaccine because I am allergic to contrast dye, I was given a total run-around and was not permitted to ask the doctor. First I was sent to a telelphone # where no one knew the answer. Then the office manager told me the CDC keeps changing its mind, and her office does not have the answer. The CDC says if you are allergic TO ANYTHING, ASK YOUR PRIMARY CARE DOCTOR. This doc is no longer my primary care doc. AND, you will probably see his 2 physician assistants because he is not always available.

THE WORST EXPERIENCE! The front desk, the doctor’s wife and a man in the waiting room were not wearing masks! I felt unsafe to be at a doctors office during COVID-19 pandemic where employees and patients were not wearing masks so I calmly asked the front desk woman if they weren’t supposed to be wearing masks? She answered that she has taken the vaccine so she didn’t need to. I asked her if the CDC recommends not wearing masks after vaccination and she said that she doesn’t need to. I felt confused and unsafe, but decided to wait for my appointment. I was wearing a mask. Five minutes later the doctor’s wife, came out without a mask screaming at me that I had no right to question them about masks since they were vaccinated. She was extremely Rude so I left the office without seeing the doc and later she left a message on my phone threatening to sue me if I told anyone about it! Absurd!

The thing I would like to bring up is the following: My wife went there last week for blood work. The waiting area was very crowded. How do we know who was sick and who was there for blood work. There was no six feet rule, no wiping down the chairs when someone left I myself was in two different doctors office that same week and had very different rules in regards to the Covid Virus. I believe changes are needed.

We’ve been going to Dr Capio and staff for at least 10 years. He has helped us through some difficult times with his recommendations or his own medical help. His two PAs are WONDERFUL. The woman who takes the blood is great! We are very satisfied! We have and do recommend!

I have been a patient for over 20 years! I recently received a new insurance company and was so happy to find that West Parkway Medical is in the network. I would have been very upset if I had to leave their great care to use another provider. They are all so helpful and kind. I have complete trust in their care and advise. Ari and Dr. Capio make going to the doctor a nice experience!

I have gone to Dr. Capio for years now and I think he is great. In contrast to some other reviewers, I have always been able to get an appointment with him directly, and he always gives me plenty of time. He is honest, intelligent, and straight to the point - I trust him completely. Other things that apply to me specifically, he is a funny guy and he plays good music in the office. I would totally recommend him to anyone. Once my son gets older, he will go there too.
