Dr. Marine Sahakyan, MD

I work in healthcare (nurse) so I debated leaving such a negative review on what feels like going against “my people”, but this was one of the most insensitive providers I have met as a patient and as a nurse. I had an early miscarriage, but it was my first pregnancy. My obgyn provider was not available for the unplanned ultrasound needed to confirm full miscarriage so I had to see this MD. I felt rushed and whenever I tried to ask questions on how to proceed forward to avoid miscarriage in future, when we can try again etc I was cut off and felt like I was annoying her to ask questions. She told me “it’s so early you just found out you are pregnant earlier this week so it’s not like you know you even want this yet” … I’m a 38 year old married woman … who initially was seeking fertility help. Clearly I wanted this pregnancy…. And to me it was devastating. I couldn’t believe the lack of empathy in a very upsetting moment in my life. I just hope she isn’t like this with all patients.

She has been my provider for three years and yet does not know who I am. I wanted to talk to her about my issues, but she seemed to be rushing me, after being over an hour late to my appointment with her.

I recently had my two year appointment with Dr. Sahakyan, as I am beyond child bearing age. As always, it was a very pleasant and informative visit for me. Dr. Sahakyan is a very caring, yet highly professional and knowledgeable doctor. She is concerned about your health and well being. She asks questions and really listens to any concerns you may have and provides you with helpful feedback and suggestions. Dr. Sahakyan makes sure that you are up to date with any annual medical tests that need to be done. I am very happy that I am a patient of Dr. Sahakyan.

Quick and professional

I just moved to the area and was looking to establish care. She was friendly, thorough, reassuring and answered all my questions. Most of all when I stated I’d like to have my tubes tied. She laid all the info out and also other options, but she did not try to dissuade me like other doctors had. She made me feel at ease and comfortable when going over my history as well.

My appointment was made very quickly. The Staff were so nice. Dr Sahakyan was well prepared with my medical records, but most of of all she said I can see your anxiety. She was so calm, walked me through the procedure and was very understanding. She was wonderful.
