Professional and Caring
Telehealth
I'm been a patient of Dr Marina Zatman for 17 plus years. She is a growing minority in Healthcare. Dr Zatman upholds the Caring in Healthcare that many practitioners are or have relegated to a less important or non essential aspect of their treatment plans. I know reimbursement has played a major role in determining what boxes must be checked by clinicians and what boxes are desirable but optional. There's many providers who want to include treating the person as a whole, but can't because they're time is controlled by an employer or high pt to MD ratios. Most of it is set by the always changing Medicare, Medicaid and private insurance contracts. Try to remember to tell your Clinicians or Providers what you appreciate about them. More people take the time to complain but we forget to point out what's made our experiences good. Thank you for reading.

Cold or somewhat reasonable---depending on the day

I can never count on what Dr. Zatmans's personality will be like. I am tired of being told I am the problem when meds don't work. They don't work for the majority of people. She can be very, very impatient and make you feel awful when it is not at all your fault. DO not let her bring you down.

Dr. Zatman is not a therapist. She is a psychopharmacologist and her job is to prescribe medication and know them well. Do not expect therapy. She knows therapists she can refer you to but being a therapist is not her specialty. She is the best in Woodbury in terms of knowing medications and doses to prescribe.

Dr. Zatman has treated me for years. She is very thorough and thoughtful in her treatment and medication management. She is very encouraging; she doesn't pull any punches, either. She is a strong advocate for overall health and wellness.

My experience of several years with Dr. Zatman has been excellent. My diagnoses are those which don't respond well to meds or therapy but she perseveres in trying to find the best treatment for me. Her reputation includes her great knowledge of psychiatric meds. She has a way about her that you sense she really cares and understands when you are uncomfortable in whatever condition(s) ail(s) you. She is the best psychiatrist in the area.
