Dr. Marie-Elena Dragonetti, DO

For a DO, Dr. Dragonetti did not listen to a single word I said. I was desperate for a solution, and foolishly followed her advice to see a pulmonologist, because she thought I had sleep apnea. Well that did not end well, I was tortured for a month using the machine - did not get any sleep because I was struggling to breath. So my sore throat persisted, until I found a Dr. that actually listened. Took me 3 years, but I found someone, but by that time the damage to my esophagus was done! I now have a hiatal hernia, and acid reflux, which was causing my sore throat, but hey, it's OK, it was not your body. So much for healing the whole body, she was just looking for a bandaid.

She is the best doctor I have ever had. She covers all issues, she takes her time with you and really cares about your well being! She listens to your concerns she never rushes you. I am thankful for her. She makes you feel at ease and really listens to what your concerns you have. I cannot stress enough how great and caring Dr. Dragonetti is.. Pat C.

My interaction over the phone was extremely disappointing. I was put on hold several times. Spoke with someone who commented on my symptoms saying sarcastically “Wow… well I haven’t heard this one before….” Then they transferred me to a nurse who suggested that I should just go to urgent care. Extremely insensitive to someone in tears and extreme pain.

I am looking for a regular Primary Physician so I'm trying different doctors. I had previously been seen 3 times by a Physician in the same office as Dr. Dragonetti but his style wasn't in line with my vision of an ideal GP. I decided to try a different Dr. in the same office because the office location was convenient for me. I chose Dr. Dragonetti but it didn't go well at all. I show up for the appt. and she comes in the exam room very aggressively questioning me. Upon entry she says loudly "What are you doing there?! Do you know me?!" Then she states that I'm the other dr's patient. I said not any longer and that's why I'm here. She proceeds to rudely tell me "you can't do that!!" I thought she was joking then she let me know that she was serious. She then storms out of the exam room screaming at the staff and she never returned. The Office Manager comes in to say that Dr. Dragonetti isn't accepting new patients and won't be able to continue the appt. I was appalled.

I have been a patient of Dr. Dragonetti for years now. I wouldn't think of ever leaving her, she is so knowledgeable, understanding and caring! She explains all matters concerned and keeps you at ease! I just wish all doctors were like her, she is truly one in a million!

Dr Dragonetti goes over and beyond!!! Absolutely one of the best doctors around!!! I have been seeing her for years and wouldn’t trust anyone else!!! Never rushes you, explains everything and definitely knows her stuff!!! One of a kind!!!

I went from doctor to doctor. I have a compromised immune system. This doctor is awesome. I finally felt I was being heard.

The doctor was careful and concerned regarding all the information she needed to have. Then, she gave me a thorough physical examination. Before I left, she asked if there were any questions I wanted to ask her. I would gladly recommend her to anyone needing medical assistance....Madeline Ferris

Have been going to her for years, and feel extremely comfortable with her She calls to provide results from tests, and sensitive to what you are feeling.

Dr. Dragonetti is the absolute BESTEST. She is everything a patient wants in a Doctor. She is compassionate, caring, sweet, understanding, she takes time to answer all your questions, brilliant in her field, she looks out of the box for answers, she calls you back the same day or if an emergency right away. Not a pill pusher, and Extremely down to earth. I love her.

This was the worst experience I've had with a doctor. I wanted to use Dr. Dragonetti for my internist but at my first visit I found her to be extremely rude, nasty and judgmental. She had the worst disposition and I would never be able to have any kind of relationship with her or trust her with my medical care.

I've been a patient of hers for about 10 yrs. When she had her own practice, she was a good and caring doctor. She took her time and genuinely cared about the welfare of her patients. However, now that she is part of Winthrop/NYU Lagone she has become increasingly nasty and abrupt. I know she didn't want to give up her private practice and blamed ACA, but to take if out on her patients is unfair. I will not be returning to see her and will be going to another internist.

Treating with Dr. Dragonetti has completely put me at ease. She really takes the time to explain things to you in way you can understand without "talking down" to you. She has also recommended specialists to me, who are equally professional and easy to treat with. I cannot praise Dr. Dragonetti enough.

Dr Dragonetti is thorough, caring and knowledgeable. She is easy to talk to and really listens to her patients. I always leave her office feeling that I can get a handle on any ailment or problem that we have discussed.

I highly recommend Dr. Dragonetti. She takes the time to go over everything with you. You never feel rushed, even when you have a million questions. It's taken me many years to find a doctor with whom I am truly comfortable and I have found that in Dr. Dragonetti.

Dr. Dragonetti has been my doctor for almost 7 years and I could not even imagine going to anyone else. The compassion she has for her patients is beyond amazing ,She treats all of her patients like they are members of her family. Her diagnosis is always spot on and she has me smiling and laughing as I leave even when I am under the weather. I recommend everyone to her because she is that good. Dr Dragonetti is always on call and available for her patients 24x7.
