Dr. Maria Szmidt, MD

I had a truly frustrating and disappointing experience with this office. From start to finish, they were disorganized, poor communicators, and ultimately a waste of time. I called to schedule a pap smear and was told I needed a new patient appointment first. That was fine--I scheduled the next available, which was four months out. I completed all my new patient forms ahead of time. The day before my appointment, I got a call that it needed to be rescheduled. I understood--things happen. I took the next available appointment, canceling a family spring break trip to make it work. Then, again the day before the new appointment, I got another call asking me to fill out my new patient forms--the same ones I had already completed weeks earlier. I explained this, and all they could say was that the forms were "in a different system" and I didn't actually need to fill them out again. Completely inconsistent messaging. When I arrived at the appointment 15 minutes early, the front desk asked if I was there for a pap smear--which was shocking, because they had explicitly told me I couldn't have one yet, and that this was only a new patient visit. Why didn't they know what type of appointment I was scheduled for? I expressed my confusion and concern, and someone else stepped in--but instead of listening, she repeatedly interrupted me, escalated the situation, and told me she would call security if I didn't leave. I was shocked. I came in expecting routine care and instead left feeling disrespected and dismissed. This office has serious issues with organization, internal communication, and patient care. I would strongly advise others to look elsewhere.

Dr. Szmidt has been my primary care physician for the last five plus years. I haven't ever had to contact Dr. Szmidt via email nor have I ever had a virtual visit. However, every time I contact the office, I'm able to get an appointment within a reasonable time and I always appreciate the amount of time that Dr. Szmidt takes to listen to my concerns and take action on what I need. I'm also very pleased with the specialists that she's referred me to and the follow-up that I get from her office. The doctor and the staff are friendly and professional. The office is always well-maintained and there's plenty of free parking. Compared to my past doctors, I consider myself very lucky to have found Dr. Szmidt because I feel like I'm receiving personalized care.

Dr Szmidt is very patient and trustworthy. She always makes time for me.
