Dr. Maria Melli, MD

Dr Melli was not willing to listen to my medical issue or history, said she was covering for 6 doctors and refused to help me. Told me to go to ER. I went to the Patient First across the street who were wonderful and assisted me with my insomnia

I saw Dr. Melli years ago when she was at a small clinic in Devon. As a teenager, I was not sexually active, but needed to be on birth control for medical reasons (menorrhagia). Dr. Melli would often ask my mom to leave the room to "speak to me privately," at which point she would ask if I was doing drugs, smoking, drinking, and sexually active. When I would say no, she would tell me she had a hard time believing that a girl my age wasn't doing those types of things. At one point, she said she would no longer prescribe my medication unless I got a pelvic exam at an OB/GYN. I said I wasn't comfortable with that and asserted that I was not sexually active, but she said she didn't believe me. I went without my medication until I was legally an adult and was able to choose a doctor that didn't report to my parent.

Dr. Maria Melli was my Fathers Primary Care Physician. He was diagnosed with 4TH stage Prostate Cancer in 2011. Due to Dr. Melli medical negligence and failing to conduct the the proper testing that would have detected the diagnosis of Prostate Cancer when it was in the beginning stage. However because of her medical negligence and missed diagnosis my father Leroy Barksdale passed away June 2017 due to 4th stage Prostate Cancer. She won't release his medical records in fear of a lawsuit!
