Dr. Khan's care for my son was extremely disappointing. Over 13 months, she failed to take timely, proactive steps, even though his symptoms worsened. Early in treatment, she noted he hadn’t had a scope in four years but delayed scheduling it for eight months. Despite my repeated concerns and requests for a new treatment plan, she insisted he was still a 'new patient' to her and refused to make changes, even as his condition deteriorated. During this time, my son experienced his worst health, including three hospitalizations within six months. When I documented symptoms in MyChart, she scolded me and dismissed the severity of his condition. At one point, as my son's symptoms were worsening again, her plan was simply to wait for another hospitalization to consult with a surgeon. Her passiveness and lack of care contributed to his deterioration in health. Ultimately, a different team of doctors correctly diagnosed him with ulcerative colitis and provided effective care.

My son was exclusively breastfed and developed cows milk protein allergy through my milk. She immediatly told me I had no option other than formula, and told me to continue feeding him Alimentum even after a clear obvious allergic reaction that was more sever than anything he experienced through breastmilk. Our pediatrician agreed breast milk was still what was best and referred us to University of Kentucky pediatric GI. They helped us eliminate his additional allergies from my diet (eggs and peanuts), and at 16 months we are still nursing. I highly recommend moms who want to continue to breastfeed to go to University of Kentucky instead!!!!!
