Shoulder Pain
Dr Francis took nearly one hour to perform a thorough exam including likely cause, current treatment, aggravating circumstances. Dr Francis recommended an MRI which I have now to schedule.

Shoulder Diagnosis.
I went to see Dr. Francis re: shoulder pain. She spent a lot of time with me to understand the type of pain, activities that exacerbate it, and my current treatments. I am now scheduled for an MRI for further diagnosis. I was a new patient and was with Dr Francis for over an hour.

Receptionists are terrible. Super unfriended and seem bothered to help you. Medical assitants were excellent. The Dr is friendly and spends a lot of time with you. Her method of determining what's going on is terrible. Instead of asking me what all i was experiencing she would describe a symptom, sometimes google a picture and then ask me if I was experiencing it. Over and over. I can play that game by myself on my phone. Also terrible listening skills. She would ask a question, i would answer and then a few minutes later she would ask the same question again complete unaware i had answered it. Or i would answer a question she make sure she understood what I said, it wasn't remotely close to what i said and i would clarify again. Kind of loopy This is just the initial visit but my hopes are a little low

I saw this for for a few years. I was getting better then the meds stopped working so she tried others. My body just started rejecting all the medication she was putting me on. I broke out with a bad case of hives on one medication she put on and made a follow up appointment with her. A week before my appointment her office called and told to find another rheumatologist because she left and didn't know when she would be back. So the doctor has a nervous breakdown and her patients are left to fend for themselves. Personally I think she just gave up and didn't want to be bothered any longer with a patient that none of the medications were working. I find another rheumatologist and she did the correct test and found out I was allergic to most of the RA medication because of what it was made from. Go figure a doctor that actually took the time to find out what was going on with my body. Not Francis

She is the best rheumatologist I know !! Listens and is very compassionate, not sure about the reviews above. Unfortunately, there are a lot of drug seekers out there, and if you do not give them want they want a bad review!!!!!

I had to wait in the exam room for 50 minutes. Dr. Francis would not listen to me or answer my questions. She just gave me her opinion and that was final. I showed her what the Mayo Clinic site said and she told me to go there. I do not recommend her, if you are looking for good bedside manner.

Dr Francis is wonderful. She is patient, very attentive and caring. She listened to me about my issues, asked questions and followed up with testing. When I returned she explained in detail my results and the way to recovery. I’m so thankful to have her as my doctor and I highly recommend her.

Very difficult to get a hold of office staff to refill prescriptions, I feel like she has a new PA every time I see her. When i asked about alternative treatments, i was literally laughed at. Most recently I received a message cancelling my appointment and was told not to call them, that they would call me to reschedule.

I wholeheartedly recommend Dr Francis. To begin with, her staff is friendly and competent and reassuring. Then you are fortunate enough to meet and be treated by Dr Francis. She listens, assesses, comforts and recommends your healing plan. I was relieved of debilitating pain within days. It was a very lucky day that I decided to call her office.

After waiting 6 months for an appointment, she spent 6 minutes with me and tried to brush me off before I asked another question and decided to get some lab work. She came highly recommended to me by a family member whom 3 years ago she spend a good amount of time with. My positive testing I had in August was determined to be to low and a retest deemed unnecessary despite months of pain. While the staff seemed pleasant I will never refer to or go back again. Back to square 1.

Painfully disappointed in New Lenox, IL – Jan 04, 2017
×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Francis?
Dr Francis was able to provide me a correct diagnosis and treatment plan that has greatly improved my quality of life after years down the wrong path with other physicians. I am thankful my primary care physician gave me her referral. All specialty physicians like endocrinologists and rheumatologists have a large patient load and when you actually spend time with patients, your schedule gets behind, so arrive with patience for your turn and all you want to ask on paper to keep focused.

If you need a doctor who will only take minimal time with you in order to keep on schedule, go somewhere else. Dr. Francis is the first and most thorough rheumatologist I have seen. I have been to Mayo, Rush, Loyola, and countless others. I have missed less work and felt better under her care than ever before. I am an extremely complicated case and appreciate she is thorough and listens to me. I've had infusions in office and loved her support staff. She has done ultrasound guided injections too

She seemed nice and caring during the initial visit but after that you could never reach her. Her office staff was useless and said they couldn't get a hold of her. I usually have good instincts about people but not this time. My son in law is experiencing the same problems with her right now that I had. So, mine was not just a conflict or misunderstanding.
