Dr. Margarita Abrams, MD

It was the worse visit I have ever had with a doctor. Acted as if my concerns were ridiculous and made me feel so uncomfortable. Also, she definitely has no patience and a temper. She was aggravated she couldn’t find a paper in her very messy stack of papers on the wall and slammed down a stack of them on the counter in aggravation. The office seems unorganized not only in that matter but also just calling and getting an appointment. I will be finding a new doctor and will not recommend anyone to her in the future.

Poor to no communication, poor organization, unnecessary procedures and money generating practices. They refilled a year of prescriptions before they told me I was supposed to be getting blood work done every 6 weeks to monitor the prescription. They then blamed me that I was not following up, although I went in every single time, they told me I needed to. They did an unnecessary biopsy with no justification in the results of my pap for the procedure. The unnecessary colposcopy was verified by 3 other gynecologists as unnecessary. This was based on the previous pap results, as well as a new pap. When I asked for my medical records, as I was obviously not going back, they put notes in my file that were completely untrue and they said I was threatening them when I stated that I would seek treatment elsewhere.

Dr. Abrams was very thorough and non-judgmental, she listened and made sure all of my concerns were addressed. I feel like I can trust her and I know that nothing will be missed.

I had my first IUD insertion by Dr. Abrams. I was very intimidated by stories I've heard by other women (which have other providers) about the process. Dr. Abrams used numbing and pain/anxiety control techniques and I didn't feel it. Dr. Abrams follows modern medicinal techniques to provide comprehensive care. Encore is the most trusted Gynecological care, all the women in my family see Dr. Abrams and her excellent, intelligent staff.

Dr. Abrams is the best doctor in Blacksburg. She treats her patients as whole people. She is warm, kind, and caring. But most important, she is a skilled physician who won’t stop until she figures out what’s wrong and can help her patients. If you want a doctor who hears what you’re saying, she’s the one

She is always amazing! She delivered my 2 girls then came in on her day off so she could deliver my son.

Bad experience overall. Every time there is at least 1-1:30 hr waiting in the waiting room. Office is small. The lab she sends tests to charge outrageously. She doesnt answer to any of my questions and concerns clearly and I leave her office worried and lost after every visit. I dont know where all the positive ratings came from. I’m actually surprised how bad/unhelpful she is. Oh and the flip flops she wears are unprofessional.

The worst experience I have ever had at a doctor's office. All around unprofessional and not open to helping you what so ever. I spent 2 hours waiting before I even saw the doctor. The office is dirty, and the waiting room (and receptionist) smelled of cigarettes. When I finally saw her she made me feel extremely uncomfortable (she was also wearing flip flops in January...so gross I do NOT want to see your feet) and I left with more worry than I did going in. She has NO idea what she is doing. I ended up going to a different OBYN the following week because I had no faith in anything this doctor told me. Margarita Abrams also sent testing to a lab WITHOUT my consent, which is beyond wrong. So now I have an outrageous bill with my name on it and they are saying they can't do anything about it even though I was NEVER told that these tests were being done. It is all around just wrong.

Dr Abrams is very knowledgeable and thorough with office visits. She truly cares for her patients and on improving their health. She spends plenty of time and never rushes through the visit. I can’t say enough wonderful things about her and her office staff.

She is truly an amazing woman. She cares about her patients goes above and beyond to figure out what the problem may be. She is one of the rare Dr we have left that truly has heart. Not just about the money. I can't say enough good about her.

The best thing to happen to the world of OBGYN!!! Gets to know the patient versus serving a number or body. By far the best. Been a patient for roughly 15 years. To this day, I drive two hours one way for services. Annuals, pregnancies, concerns?!?! Dr. Abrams is PERFECT for the job!!!

Best Obgyn in nrv!!!

Love love love this physician! She is friendly, compassionate, but also doesn't skirt around any issues- I need someone to tell it to me straight! She monitored me during both of my high risk pregnancies and kept me (and my babies!) safe and healthy. She supported and respected my decisions even if she wasn't 100% in complete agreement- that meant so much to me. Dr. Abrams is intelligent and has amazing intuition- I trusted her completely. Will see her again for future pregnancies! Great staff!

Dr.Abrams is one of the best in OB/GYN. She cared for me with my pregnancies and when I had a miscarriage she was by my side. I'd trust her with anything. Very professional, clean and she explains things in detail. I would and have recommended her to all my friends. Our whole women part of the family already goes to her!
